Dec 30, 2011 - Look around YouTube for plentiful examples of how imagination combined with a little knowledge leads to folly. There are 3 player in this game. Imagination, Knowledge, and a systematic way of sorting the wheat from the chaf, The Scientific Method: Null Hypothesis->Experiment->Rejection (or not) of the Null Hypothesis. It takes all 3 to do real science. With only imagination, you're not a scientist, but a preacher.

Jan 1, 2012 - Square (though I assume you mean cubic) planets can't occur naturally above a certain size. The gravity of the matter in the planet pulls everything towards the centre, creating a sphere. (Strictly it's not exactly a sphere since the rotation throws it out a small amount.)That's why you can have weird shape asteroids - because they are very small so the gravity isn't large enough to pull them into a sphere, but you can't get a cubic planet.

Jan 22, 2012 - Cancer robbed us of a great physicist way too early.

TheSmackerlacker Says:

Feb 5, 2012 - I used to think that I knew almost nothing about physics, yet here we have a physicist who doesn't seem to know much more than I do. He understands it better, but he and I know all of the same things. How did that happen? I never studied physics...

Helleu1 Says:

Feb 7, 2012 - Yeah, and I bet if you lived back in the days, your knowledge would've been enough to help build the atomic bomb.

TheSmackerlacker Says:

Feb 7, 2012 - Probably not, although I appreciate the vote of confidence from a complete stranger who is most likely being facetious.

stevesurv Says:

Feb 8, 2012 - Wouldn't be surprised.

dpcrozier99 Says:

Feb 24, 2012 - it shouldn't at all, maybe you have metal problems? he wasn't even talking about physics at that point so how did you deal with the rest?

iSometimesWriteMusic Says:

Feb 24, 2012 - I think you are the one who might have mental problems, if you do not recognize someone who appreciates the almost metaphysical part of physics, and the beauty of it. I am human and attracted to that which stimulates both halves of my brain, deal with it.

wHisperis001 Says:

Feb 29, 2012 - You might get that impression because in these interviews he talks about layman stuff. There were physicists who said they felt like children compared to him when he gave lectures about the hardcore physics like quantum and etc
