Aug 21, 2011 - How long should I practice these excercises for before I move on to the next excercise?
chailizard Says:
Sep 1, 2011 - but if you were punching some sort of target during training, like you would ideally in a fight, you wouldn't have the problem of damaging the elbow would you? I would have thought fully extendning it would maximize power and range.
HybridDragons Says:
Sep 1, 2011 - Yes. But this builds up a bad habit. What if you get into a real fight and miss your opponent while cracking your elbow joints? No matter how much they teach you, you have to be aware of the fact that things won't always look fancy or go to plan.

Oct 9, 2011 - Notice the straight line punch tend to drive upwards. So that implies driving it up the jaw of the opponent... man that is nasty.
Sin6667 Says:
Oct 27, 2011 - This seems so simple, but for a karate practitioner like myself, it's a tad difficult since it's the polar opposite of traditional karate punching exercises. lol
anythingnew Says:
Oct 31, 2011 - I'm learning Shotokan karate and this at the same time.
Sin6667 Says:
Nov 1, 2011 - This is "at the same" eh? That's..... interesting. Are you learning via youtube videos or are you in a class. Because it' kind of hard to imagine someone who knows Karate say it's the same as chinese kung fu (especially Wing Chun) despite the gigantic fundamental differences.
anythingnew Says:
Nov 1, 2011 - I never said they were the same. I'm learning the Shotokan in a class and the Wing Chun from these videos lol. Before all this, I learned boxing, or at least tried to.Next, I will pick up blowjobjob. I think they call it BJJ for short.
Sin6667 Says:
Nov 2, 2011 - rofl. I thought that's what you were saying, but i guess you meant "at the same time." i was like "riiiight" lol

Jan 10, 2012 - it's not good to stay on one leg ... no stabilization and no power in your punch.. sorry sifu

Jan 21, 2012 - i like his tagline"i see u in next lesson"
kevinrust1986 Says:
Feb 16, 2012 - sorry mate but most of your body weight goes in the back leg for few reasons. 1. leg with little weight can kick. 2. in wing chun we learn to use your hips when punching plus spring of off the back leg. So if you have most weight in back leg then no tense hand swing a punch tense as u hit but at the same time use your hips to fire and spring from back leg then when u connect the damage is untrue. safe
