Mar 16, 2012 - This is the Dead at their finest, pitching curves at each other right and left. Jerry throwing out a line that comes to mind, Phil rebounding with musically complex bass lines no one else would ever play and Bobby keeping the groove along with Mickey and Bill.

WilliamsBallMusic Says:

Mar 26, 2012 - If you're a guitarist, have you ever looked at Bobby and you see what he is playing, but you don't hear it in the music. I see what Bobby's playing, but I can't hear it in the final product. And this is just in the 1980's, definitely not now, he's matured so much since then.....

artsmith1972 Says:

Mar 29, 2012 - i think its also a rumor that one of the sound guy's from that period notoriously f**ked with his levels too- to intentionally "shut him down". Think i may have read that in Phil's book.....

WilliamsBallMusic Says:

Apr 1, 2012 - never knew that, thanks!

bradicleez Says:

Apr 1, 2012 - I think you are right, in that sometimes he is inaudible, but it doesn't help that Bob is not your normal rhythm guitarist. He rarely keep the beat with his rhythm, he accentuates the notes in Jerry's melody or Phil's bass groove. Great song anyways!

Apr 2, 2012 - i seen this Jack Straw several times and each time i see this, it feels like the first time I saw this. pure joy!

Apr 6, 2012 - 6:38 Made my mind FUCKING EXPLODE. How is Jerry so underrated when theres so many recordings of him doing stuff like THIS on the guitar??

BluesHonkey Says:

Apr 7, 2012 - Jerry is so adorable. god we all miss him so bad. imagine if he`d had FIVE fingers. Furthur did a splendid Jack Straw fri at Wang. JK is really playing well. they used to play for silver now they play for lives.

Apr 13, 2012 - Notice how Jerry was so messed up that he gets the Lyrics wrong in the beginning?

DrewAnti1960 Says:

Apr 17, 2012 - yeah thats great, and he dont give a shit either, and thats even greater,

possumjiboo Says:

Apr 23, 2012 - Nice Converse Bobby!

1Bigdrop Says:

May 2, 2012 - So the "noodling start" is ironically a riff taken from the "Eat until I die" Disney song that Goofy sings to Donald Duck. My wife figured it out as soon as she heard it. You Tube the Eat until I die song and see for yourself. Sadly ironic but probably just a riff he remebered after watching Disney with his kids?

danigoni Says:

May 2, 2012 - No, it's Funiculì, Funiculà, it's an italian song, the disney song is a pardoy of that song.

1Bigdrop Says:

May 2, 2012 - Correct you are! But ironic all the same after the DKA and health problems. Interesting to find out which of the two was actually the inspiration for the little jam there. I miss Jerry.

jockamofeena Says:

May 3, 2012 - Check out 5:57-ish and how much Mickey is just buried. I LOVE late 80's GD, but anytime there was a clam fest it was Mickey's fault. This isn't the first time I have seen that Healy knew it too and kept his levels down. Friend of mine said the reason Phil and Jerry switched was because Phil couldn't take being in front of his kit anymore. Billy FTW.
