He wishes to inspire and offer advice to aspiring pianists and musicians worldwide via videos with his thought-provoking performances and tutorials. Jun 19, 2009 - Very nice piece of work. The new camera position is terrific too. 5* from me..Lalita

Jun 19, 2009 - I love that your playing has a certain elegance to it that few pianists capture very well. It sounds beautiful. I just think you need to put more emphasis on the changes in dynamics in general. I also think it needs to be a little more dream-like and floating. But It does sound very comfortable and relaxed which is really comforting. Awesome job!

BachScholar Says:

Jun 19, 2009 - I think some of the dynamic problems are simply my living room and having the mic so close up to the piano so that pianissimos seem louder than they really are. It's much easier to achieve contrasts in a larger hall and with better recording equipment. Thanks.

morfingaunt Says:

Jun 20, 2009 - Nice use of dynamics and rhythm. A nice clear tone coming through, but perhaps some more subtlety and shading could be used to exemplify the impressionist nature of the piece a little more. But greak work and a lovely piano!

gijsjaradijsja Says:

Jun 21, 2009 - I think its because your camera automaticly compresses the sound to prevent clipping. You could get rid of that by recording audio with a seperate device..

PSearPianist Says:

Jun 21, 2009 - I really enjoyed that. That is an excellent camera angle for students wanting ideas on how to play the piece (I sometimes get asked to film my videos that way, but do not have the capability!), and I thought the sound quality was good.

BachScholar Says:

Jun 21, 2009 - Thanks Phillip. I put my tripod on a small kitchen table just to the left of the piano. You can't do that?

nostradamusguy Says:

Jun 27, 2009 - Ok, now I really like this interpretation! You seem much more opened and relaxed about it. You also have more of a rubato feel, which is honestly necessary to an Impressionistic touch.

BachScholar Says:

Jun 27, 2009 - Thanks, but there is really hardly any rubato here either. It may be just an illusion created by all the ritards. I do several ritards at cadence points, but always return to the former tempo and never deviate from it except at the end where it's marked slower. I think "rubato" is a misused term. Ritardandos and rubato are not the same. But thanks anyway!

gijsjaradijsja Says:

Jun 30, 2009 - That's a great idea! Maybe, before you go playing all that stuff again, you should ask someone to check your gear and mic-position, just to make sure. Or are you going to record it in a studio?

petalxstorm Says:

Jul 10, 2009 - I see that many of your titles are in Japanese? Why exactly is this?

BachScholar Says:

Jul 10, 2009 - Because I want to make the searches appear in Japanese, since YouTube is really popular in Japan.

andrewnorris1 Says:

Aug 24, 2009 - Delighted to find so many of my favourites on your channel. Beautiful renditions and sensitively played. You have a gift because you make the music sound as if it is played without effort, i just wish the sound quality did you more justice. Nevertheless, a joy to discover.

capen Says:

Sep 22, 2009 - One of my favorite compositions of Debussy, especially when it is played as well as you have. Thank you for sharing.Bravo!BJC

Oct 7, 2009 - すごく上手ですね。

NoGee06 Says:

Oct 7, 2009 - So I hear this thing called 'dynamics' is pretty cool. You should try it sometime.

BachScholar Says:

Oct 7, 2009 - If you can't play it better than me, you should refrain from commenting in such a negative fashion. Please post a video response of yourself playing it and show the world the proper dynamic levels.

masa43826 Says:

Nov 27, 2009 - Your performance is very splendid, and it is played carefully, and I am not monotonous, and there seems to be it in a dream. No, I rather have already slept
