May 3, 2012 - I'm not a God-believer & I love this song. After seeing the movie I bought the record & got addicted to this song. In college I had to write a paper on the book & film. I love the communal feeling & singing of gospel that uses music as a vehicle to appreciate/worship their God, as other religions do too. But gospel like this song has this rousing quality & mixture of the blues, so I really dig it. (Love Miss Celie's Blues too.) So people know, not all atheists are cranky about religious songs.

I have been shot at, battled addictions, had a knife pulled on me, been in numerous fights, etc. I am 28 now. I lived the street life since 14 or so. Not anymore God's will is to reveal himself 2 us.
