Sep 23, 2011 - OHMY GOD - HARRY POTTER IN THE BOOKSHELVE! Thank you so much - this is really helpful!:)

EmmaLilly007 Says:

Sep 23, 2011 - And mines like harry potter - i've twisted it and the real story is nothing like it, but the main character (a boy) learns magic is real and has to go to a different world where he learns the ways of the Aveos (baisically wizards) But it's not in a boarding school, it's a community village. I've twisted it but I'm soooo worried about people judging my book straight away - fear's the only thing holding me back from writing and it actually gives me writers block - it's so annoying:|

Oct 9, 2011 - I also take ideas from here and there and recently I started thinking... oh wait if I send it into a publisher and it's similar they won't take. But I really just took the core element from Avatar - The Last Airbender. People in my book have power over the elements and the main character is also the chosen one and has to save everybody but that's the only thing really... so this won't be a problem won't it? (regarding copyright.. =S)

Nov 26, 2011 - Hi there Keith. I haven't got a clue whether you will read this but I remember you when you was an egg (in a writing sense) Six Bullets and all :) It's Paul, the quitter here, still scribbling occasionally but dreams more ethereal as ever. Nice to see your face again after all these years, it takes me back, and that's a blessing. I can see you have done extremely well for yourself and I can't be any more pleased.

Jan 28, 2012 - Teachers like to be kind, you have to understand that English is generally the easiest subject on the curriculum, and creative writing is the easiest branch of English. HOWEVER, you have the biggest difficulty of fiction writing out of the way, an actual plot? Is your plot original? Do you read it and think that it's something you would buy and stay up all night reading? Expand, edit, rewrite, expand, edit, give it to those you trust to read. Edit, re-wright. Good luck.
