Dec 7, 2011 - his performance is so good (thought I loved Gerrard voice better) but he oddly look like Freddy Krueger disguising as the phantom of the opera

Dec 10, 2011 - The true phantom of the opera
Keepseeker Says:
Dec 13, 2011 - Well...the Phantom isn't supposed to be attractive. :3

Dec 17, 2011 - how about Ramin Karminloo he's PHANtastic

Dec 19, 2011 - OH FRANK!!!
Iced1992 Says:
Dec 28, 2011 - The lyrics are way better too. The original Phantom wound Christine in a web of deceit and lies and eventually caused the bitter end of their romance, the new Phantom (which I actually love) makes no sense whatsoever. That Phantom is attractive, seductive, and desirable. The ending is abhorrently illogical and I therefore cognitively skip it.That said, this version is also plainly better.
Iced1992 Says:
Dec 28, 2011 - He isn't supposed to be good looking. He is supposed to wear make-up to hide his absolutely disgusting appearance.
jussts Says:
Jan 6, 2012 - Gerard Butler is a way better Phantom because he's totally hot and can't sing... oh wait. Never mind.
Musicman7075 Says:
Jan 9, 2012 - Christine is seduced by his voice and his music and the fact that he taught her how to sing well. Not because he is attractive
xSpiderFromMarsx Says:
Jan 16, 2012 - OK, so I get that he's not supposed to be attractive. But I just don't understand the people that say it's the voice that reels her in and favor Crawford. If I were blindfolded and they told me to pick one of the two guys to go spend forever with by their voices, I would walk right up to Gerard's phantom hands down. To me there is absolutely nothing appealing about Michael's sound. Gerard's is low, mysterious and gorgeously leering, not the higher nasal voice this version is like. Sorry :/

Mar 10, 2012 - I absolutely love this song!
Gandalfgeo1 Says:
Mar 13, 2012 - Michael Crawford is, to use the overworked adjective, awesome in this role. His diction and inflection to impart the perfect meaning to ALW's superb music and lyrics could not be bettered. His performance will truly stand the test of time as a classic. What a talent!
topsycutesy Says:
Mar 20, 2012 - Yes, I very much agree with you. His renditions of all the songs of the Phantom are very expressive..... portraying the mixed dilemmas of a tortured soul, scarred from early in life, both psychologically and physically, emotionally.
dloc0925 Says:
Mar 27, 2012 - Michael is the Phantom. he's the full package deal. if it wasn't for him, like hell there would be a movie or the great Phantoms such as Earl Carpenter, JOJ, and Ramin Karimloo. Tip your hats to the guy whether you like him or not. Major respect points to you Mr. Crawford, and i think you fantastic.
LOVxxE Says:
Apr 5, 2012 - A voice like velvet! So smooth, and dark... but also stunning and hypnotising...He just lures you in! <3
2010MzHood Says:
Apr 5, 2012 - Both of their phantoms are amazing, regardless of the notes they sing!!!
SokaRoxMySox Says:
Apr 11, 2012 - I like Michael Crawford's voice, it's one of the best phantom voices I've heard (a lot of them are terrible) but my favourite will probably always be Gerard Butler. His was the first rendition of the phantom I had ever seen, and I absolutely adore his voice, but I wish they would have disfigured him a little more. He's still too good looking.
Ggamer509 Says:
May 7, 2012 - I agree about Micheal's side of your story, but I don't like Gerard's voice either, I'd prefer Ramin Karmiloo any day!
bluekitten80 Says:
May 14, 2012 - yea but his not supposed to look funny either
ManiacBaby1 Says:
May 17, 2012 - I don't like michael's voice, or the fact that he wore a ton of lipstick, he isn't supposed to be attractive with his mask OFF with it on he can look appealing, hence the point of the play
MsAlexis4444 Says:
May 19, 2012 - Michael Crawford originated both roles from Broadway and the west end so his voice and costume are the original and how the phantom is meant to look and sound, everyone is just copying him and adapting the role

Dec 1, 2011 - This is just truly amazing and saddening that this show is/was on it's farewell tour. I look foward to Love Never Dies (with a slight disappointment in the Phantom's appearance)
