Mar 25, 2011 - I think you're full of it. Conservation of momentum is a law of physics on earth.  It doesn't require a gravity-free environment. Gravity being a vector force, it can be factored into any quantitative studies. The point is that the momentum will continue unless there is a force to resist it. There was none, and in fact gravity would further the continuance of the tipping top's momentum.
