Dec 20, 2011 - @ziweiwu many of my non chinese friends actually find Cantonese very harsh to listen to when compared to other languages like Japanese or Mandarin. They say the language just sounds "rude" =S ..That makes me feel bad since I'm Cantonese xD...

The cantonese we hear are normally fr the rude one since they are loud. The people who speaks beautifully only speaks when they are require to. Cantonese have 7-8 sound where as mandarin only have 4. It takes a lot to master it(master speaking elegantly). SOme people have given up, please don't become one of those ppl:)

Jan 3, 2012 - @Maxcloudy Really? I've heard a harsher language than cantonese. To me cantonese has a lot more character to it. It's a much more lively language. Mandarin is too boring. I mean yes it is an elegant language, but I like Cantonese better. It brings life into it....
