May 1, 2012 - You won't die lonely. You have a big ol' heart and you'll find someone who'll buy you ashtrays that will accomodate your cigars. Best to you.

May 1, 2012 - I beg to differ with you, the medium is the message. Because the medium influences how we perceive the message. So, layceemachine isn't entirely wrong...

May 3, 2012 - No it can't. The saxophone or the violin is an immeasurably superior instrument to the synthesizer. The synthesizer separates the player from the music, the violin makes him part of it. As for soup cans - I suggest you go back to the MUSICAL soup kitchen!

May 5, 2012 - now, now, now.. Didn't you know? That in the big cities, they still sell Alcoholic products illagelly in underground clubs? Also a lot of black people played in the clubs during the jazz Era, so yes it is possible Lynchings were still few b/c they really didn't take off to after War World II, b/c that was when the Klu Klux Klan was at its climax of power, and the civil rights era took full swing. yet the women no being able to vote is accurate. :)

May 7, 2012 - Yeah, good points about bootlegging and Black musicians. But the KKK was at its peak from 1920-5 during the 2nd Klan. It started in 1865. I think the OP's point is more about how the song creates a mood that takes you away from whatever is happening in the outside world. Lots of music today does that for me, with all the wtf*ckery to be found in the news..

May 17, 2012 - In her prime, NO ONE, but NO ONE, could touch Ella Fitzgerald. Before they show any of the female vocalists on "Idol" or "Voice", they should play the TV audience this song. Just so we all have our ears calibrated to the truly great stuff! Thanks so much for posting this!

May 29, 2012 - Shut up and listen to a Real Song! This is what I call ARTIST and music. Rap these days are about shooting and how much money they have. What you are listening you will never see that in this day and age because music is no longer the beat it's about selling. Now stop reading this and listen.
