Author: Euronews
Duration: 1:21
Description:
http://www.euronews.net/ David Cameron has pledged Britain will remain a "full and very influential" member of the European Union, despite his veto on the treat change. The UK prime minister said he had done the right thing for Britain."I think it's right for Britain to say which bits of Europe most benefit us as a nation and to focus on those things. I'm not frightened of the fact that sometimes you might not be included in something. Are we better off outside the euro? You bet we are!"Membership of the EU has caused huge rifts in Cameron's Conservative Party in the past.

May 12, 2012 - Let´s wait and see...Your economy is in recession. I wish you to ask for a bailout as Portugal did. And Britain bank are not vital to the world. As a matter of fact UK is not.
doctorwhodidapoo Says:
May 12, 2012 - Britian Economy isnt that bad that it needs a bailout your dumb i do economics let me explain Britian isnt in any debt and in interest rates are low this is very good portugal was in debt Britians recession is expected to last only 3 months And yes the british banks are you ignorant prick look it up and dont reply i wont someone who smart and knows what hes talking about as i said before britian has the fourth largest economy in the world and the fourt largest defence budget
Fonseca429 Says:
May 13, 2012 - "Britian Economy isnt that bad that it needs a bailout"That can change."Britians recession is expected to last only 3 months"That can change, too."britian has the fourth largest economy"Are you sure? Show me the ranking."dont reply"I going to reply with just this: I hope UK would ask for a bailout, because Cameron said that Uk shall not help Portugal and if it does, it would be grumbling. You know, luck might change. One more thing. I´m not the kind to look up things
Fonseca429 Says:
May 13, 2012 - only to post here. UK is in recession and that means that GDP is not growing. Do you what does GDP measures? The growth of the economy. Think about it and don´t answer me without giving me your opinion about your Prime-Minister.
doctorwhodidapoo Says:
May 13, 2012 - Do you not understand omg Britain is already contributing to the eu bailout fund we just done want to put any more money in like alot of countries. Ok let me explain britian is one of the biggest contributor to the bailout fund but the people in britian dont want us to keep putting money into something thats bound to fail THE EURO. And britian wont need a bailout we never have never will our gross domestic product shrunk by only o.2 percent Thats nothing And unemployment is don
Fonseca429 Says:
May 13, 2012 - The euro will not fail. UK might need a bailout. We never know the future. We also helped Greece and Ireland without complaining. Just don´t reelect Cameron. If the situation in the euro zone and UK changes, I´ll be glad to remind you what you are saying now. There are people sleeping on the streets in UK. This means unemployment. Portuguese GDP is also shrinking at rates similar to yours. Only we are talking some time to recover. But never say that this can´t never happen to you.
doctorwhodidapoo Says:
May 13, 2012 - Listen this is old things have changed i understand where your coming from i do but things really arent that bad in britian and the reason why is our banking sector and our industry is back on the rise aswell as tourism. I know the euro will fail as small countries saw it as a get rich quick scheme And you only need a bailout when your country has borrowed to much and is in debt and our goverment isnt borrowing and if they did it wouldnt cost them much. The Pound is strong always has been
Fonseca429 Says:
May 13, 2012 - UK will, soon or later, join the euro. That´s the EU project. And I don´t know why you are saying that the euro is a squeme for small countries to get rich. Our exports are more expensive because of the strong currency (the strongest in the world). Your industry, tourism and banks may be rising but it´s too early to predict anything. Portugal had asked for a bailout because a crisis originated in the USA had pushed our economy to a bad moment. Euro will not fail, because nobody wants a new
doctorwhodidapoo Says:
May 13, 2012 - In England we get a vote on whether we went to join the euro or not and we will always vote no also why would our government want to join the weakest currency when the pound to second strongest to the dollar. You really dont get how economics work do you it doesnt matter what you think if countrys keep needing bailouts and going into recessions the euro will fail its already predicted to fail look at britian will still have are triple a credit rating i bet your google to find out what that is
Fonseca429 Says:
May 13, 2012 - WWII. Scotland will be independent, next year. Let´s wait and see if you will be able to handle your recession. But don´t worry. In a bad moment, you´ll have your dear future queen Camilla Parker-Bowles to console you. This crisis is all over Europe, the rating agencies are not going to leave europeans countries alone, and it´s possible that UK would have to ask for a bailout. I wish you good luck. It´s not pleaseble to see a PM refusing to help you.
doctorwhodidapoo Says:
May 13, 2012 - Again wrong majority of people in Scotland want to stay part of Britain LOOK WRONG AGAIN. Im to smart for you clearly you only know what you hear on the news. Britian had one the worst recessions in europe 3 years ago and we didnt ask for a bailout because we still have enough of our own money we will be fine you will see we have oil in Antarctic to fall back on
doctorwhodidapoo Says:
May 13, 2012 - And he wasn't refusing was he just this week we contributed 10 billion pounds into the euro bailout fund
doctorwhodidapoo Says:
May 13, 2012 - Oh and its In two years if Scotland decide to go independent. Which the people dont want.
Fonseca429 Says:
May 13, 2012 - Your too smart for me? You don´t even know how to write. I don´t know anything about your country, that´s your business. What is on the news is wrong? I think is not. Britain is NOW in recession. Let´s see if your recuperate as you did before. LET´S WAIT AND SEE, I already told you.Oil in the Antactic? OK, use it. About Scotland, again let s wait for the results of the referendum.
Fonseca429 Says:
May 13, 2012 - "He" is Cameron? Not refusing? He was showing bad will. He said "If Britain do, it will be grumbling". You can see that heer on YT. I´m portuguese and I didn´t like it.
Fonseca429 Says:
May 13, 2012 - "weakest currency"? The euro is the strongest currency ex-aequo with the dollar. The euro is the future of EU project. The aim if the joining of all countries. If UK decides not to, it will be pressured. For your information, I´ve a degree in Economics. The euro is not predicted to fail, the economic and social cohesion is an objective of member-states. Again, on news I´ve read that rating agencies had made negative comments about UK. Look it up on Google. Finally, I
Fonseca429 Says:
May 13, 2012 - never wanted to discuss the situation of UK economy with you, because it´s a waste of time. UK is your problem, Portugal is mine. I only think that Cameron was not correct in not wanting to help Portugal. He wasn´t alone, Sweden and Finland had done so. We should never refuse help to someone who needs. We might be the next to ask help. I think Cameron shouldn´t be relected. But that something that only british should care
doctorwhodidapoo Says:
May 13, 2012 - Camerons good for our country i couldnt give a shit about the euro or portugal And degree yeah ok mate and look again the pound is always dominant over euro the euro is not strong
Fonseca429 Says:
May 13, 2012 - YOU look again. The dollar and euro are the most strong currencies. Euro zone is the region of higher GDP along with USA. I wish the worse to Cameron, to you or the pound. I hope UK would ask for a bailout and the portuguese PM would show reluctance in agreeing. Study better Economics.
doctorwhodidapoo Says:
May 13, 2012 - No no it isnt look at how many countries use the euro and then look at britian yet as before the pound is stronger. The uk will be fine who are portugal oh that countrie where a bottle of coke costs 3 euros my friends portuguese and his parents said that they wish portugal never joined the euro and again david cameron has helped out the bailout fund by just in this week providing 10 billion pounds towards it. SO FUCK OFF YOU STUPID IGNORANT PRICK
Fonseca429 Says:
May 13, 2012 - Get better infomed about a Coke price in Portugal. Portugal had also helped Grrece and Ireland. The currency ranking is on Google. Again, I wish UK ask for a bailout as Portugal did. One more thing, I won´t insult you. That´s below my level.
UnitedKingdomify Says:
May 29, 2012 - Why on Earth would the UK need to ask for a bailout? The UK just paid tens of BILLIONS into the IMF - to which it continually gives similar sums - and stipulated that that money NOT go toward bailing out flagging Eurozone countries. The tens of BILLIONS are there to help countries in need, not failing CURRENCIES like the Euro. When was the last time Portugal paid tens of BILLIONS to the IMF? It hasn't, it doesn't have Britain's wealth.
UnitedKingdomify Says:
May 29, 2012 - Speaking of the IMF, it's review of Britain's ability to boost growth was a celebration of the Bank of England's success. Fiscal consolidation to reduce budgetary risks, has anchored inflation, enabling Britain to reduce interest rates. You know why that's a good thing? Because Britain can control her OWN interest rates, unlike members of the Eurozone. The interest in the Eurozone is good for countries like Germany and France, but terrible for smaller economies.Britain doesn't NEED a bailout!
Fonseca429 Says:
May 30, 2012 - The recession in UK will continue. Just read the news. The wealth of UK shall be needed. UK will need stop the payments to IMF. IMF was founded to help countries which needs liquidity. UK is going to loose Scotland, Malvinas and Gibraltar. Your wealth will diminish. Maybe Cameron would make your countru to prosper again, then. But...it would be more dificult.

doctorwhodidapoo Says:
May 12, 2012 - Wow oh wow your so dumb you don't understand how Britain's bank are vital to the world in economy look it up you stupid idiot, Im pretty sure britian can keep the falkland islands considering they have 1000 sas there aswell as the lastest anti air defences and four typhoon jets theres also the case of the state of the art destroyer protecting the islands. China isnt part of the euro yet they help it so get your facts right
