May 12, 2012 - Chris wrote this song One night after finishing recording "Shiver". The band took a break and went out of the studio.Outside, there were few lights on and the stars in the sky were visible and "just amazing". He told the band to look at the stars, which they did. Chris was inspired by the sight. And the name of the song came from a telephone directory Yellow Pages, which happened to be situated nearest to him while there were composing the song's lyrics!! :))

May 27, 2012 - It was not Chris' mother. It was Will Champion's (The drummer). His mom's funeral was held the morning they were going to shoot the music video for Yellow, the reason why only Chris is in that video because the rest of the band went to her funeral. But yes, the song and the lyrics are about Will's mother.

May 27, 2012 - That;s actually not truw. He got "yellow" from a phone book directory, because he felt the song was missing something. He said that Yellow doesn't mean anything,it jsut sounded right. He got the "stars" part after the band recorded "Shiver" and stepped outside. The stars were very visible, and someone told the band to look at the sky, which they did. And it was will Champion's mom who had cancer. Her funeral was ont he day of the music video shooting, which is why onyl Chris appears in the video
