Title: Why You Got Fat

Added: Feb 20, 2009

Author: FatHeadMovie

Duration: 3:6

Description:
For decades we've been told gaining and losing weight is all about the calories. Just one little problem: the research says otherwise. Diabetics undergo dramatic weight changes when they adjust their insulin levels -- and so do you. Your diet determines how much insulin your body will produce over time. From the documentary "Fat Head."

FatHeadMovie Says:

Aug 4, 2011 - Time to catch a plane. I've wasted far more time and energy talking a wall here than I should have, so this time I mean it: I'm declaring you the winner. Yes, you genius you, fat loss and accumulation are all about calories, and hormones have no effect on either, just like you said. When people shoot insulin into the same spot every day and get fat in just one that spot, it's from eating too much. You've got it all figured out, so no need to learn anything new. 'Bye now.

LiftingForLife Says:

Aug 4, 2011 - My final argument: insulin blunts the release of triglycerides from fat cells but only for the short time after a meal when it is actually elevated. As soon as insulin returns to baseline triglycerides can be freely released and oxidized. Thus the "greedy fat cell" argument is moot.

LiftingForLife Says:

Aug 4, 2011 - Also, it's worth mentioning that carbs have a more dramatic effect on metabolic rate than protein or fat - specifically in that carbs stimulate leptin and thyroid hormone production. Higher leptin and thyroid hormone = higher overall metabolic function which = good. Restricting carbs excessively leads to suppressed metabolic function.

LiftingForLife Says:

Aug 4, 2011 - Not to mention how much you talk about muscle loss... dietary carbohydrates are more protein sparing than any other nutrient.

baileywaintly Says:

Aug 4, 2011 - I've just discovered the perfect weight loss tool. Every time I want carbs I'll just watch this. Permanent damage to my cells is far scarier than gaining some weight

FatHeadMovie Says:

Aug 5, 2011 - Like I said, I don't have time to waste talking to wall. I'm in Los Angeles, preparing to give a speech at UCLA. I'll be sure to mention you don't agree with anything I have to say.

LiftingForLife Says:

Aug 5, 2011 - It's funny to see that someone giving a speech at UCLA can be made to look this bad by a "moron" on the internet.

FatHeadMovie Says:

Aug 5, 2011 - Like I said, dumbass, I don't have time to argue with the mental equivalent of a five-year-old who repeats himself over and over and over and over and over and will never, never, never stop arguing no matter what evidence is presented. I lost significant weight without feeling hungry for the first time ever by cutting carbs and I've now received countless emails from people who had exactly the same experience. You can argue all you want , but we know you're full of it. Bye.

FatHeadMovie Says:

Aug 5, 2011 - Well, that explains why when our carbohydrate consumption went up over the past 30 years (the only macronutrient that went up) we became such a nation of thin people. I can see all those revved-up metabolisms waddling around the airport right now

FatHeadMovie Says:

Aug 5, 2011 - In insulin-resistant people, insulin never returns to baseline, if baseline is what their insulin levels were when they were metabolically healthy. Seriously, you've heard of people with chronically elevated insulin levels? If so, then you just admitted that would blunt the release of triglycerides from fat cells.

FatHeadMovie Says:

Aug 5, 2011 - I see. And that explains all of us who lost significant weight easily for the first time ever by cutting carbs, after years of struggling on high-carb diets. My brother just 50 pounds on a low-carb diet ... I'll have to tell him he needs to start eating those carbs again right away. Look, moron, trying to tell people they didn't experience what they experienced is pointless. It just makes us laugh at you

dpalermo45 Says:

Aug 5, 2011 - At the end of this documentary, he says he should have lost 7.5 lbs by cutting 500 calories a day but he lost more than 12 lbs because he cut carbs. However, in the beginning of the video, he said during his diet, he will walk more to burn extra calories a day than normal. So, what is this retard trying to prove? is he trying to prove that cutting calories reduces body-weight/fat? If so con graduations fat head, you retard we already knew this...

FatHeadMovie Says:

Aug 7, 2011 - @dpalermo45 The retard calculated what the expected weight loss would be INCLUDING the extra walking. And unlike you the retard can write a coherent sentence. What the @#$% does "If so con graduations fat head" mean? Go back and pass third-grade grammar and spelling, then come back and try to make a point.

jjmklauwn Says:

Aug 8, 2011 - I really like your movie, it has changed my life forever! I lost my constant hunger and gain more muscles. What do you think about light-soda`s? I drink them a lot but am scared they are not very healty for teeth or bones. Is this true? And to get in ketosis takes 2 days, but if you excercise will you go faster in ketosis?Thanx from Europe! Keep up the good work and the fight with ignorant people

garrrynec Says:

Aug 9, 2011 - nice..is this Tom Naughton? If so, I gotta say. JOB WELL DONE!!! Everyone needs to see this documentary. This information and the information I read prior to seeing your documentary, by Mary Enig, changed the way I eat forever. Immediately I saw results across the board: body fat, immune system, energy, mood. My mother literally ate like a rabbit before, struggling with weight loss and host of other medical problems. So far, this way of eating is the only thing thats helped.

garrrynec Says:

Aug 9, 2011 - drop the soda...did primitive man walk around with a diet coke in his hand? no

garrrynec Says:

Aug 9, 2011 - just to go on a little further...studies have shown that drinking regular pop or diet doesn't matter, they both raise your risk for obesity and heart problems. Most studies that I've read suggest diet is actually worse for you. My recommendation. Have one every now and then as a treat. Your body can handle a treat. That's why we have a liver lol

FatHeadMovie Says:

Aug 9, 2011 - Yup, I dropped the diet sodas a couple of years ago.

FatHeadMovie Says:

Aug 9, 2011 - I've never looked into that, but it would seem that if you burn through your stored glucose, you'd go into ketosis faster.

FatHeadMovie Says:

Aug 9, 2011 - It's me, and thank you.

orlandorjames Says:

Aug 10, 2011 - For those that disagree with the low carb theory consider this, a study was conducted with two groups; a high carb low fat group and a low carb high fat group. Both were placed on a calorie restrictive diet of 500 calories. Both group lost weight, but the low carb high fat lost the most fat. Also consider this, high carb diets increase the risk for diabetes.

Ganzicus Says:

Aug 10, 2011 - Hehehe. I love that animation.

jamardjk Says:

Aug 12, 2011 - so ho do I decrease the body fat then............

FatHeadMovie Says:

Aug 12, 2011 - You need to 1) give your body a reason to tap your fat stores (create a calorie deficit) and 2) enable your body to tap your fat stores. If you lower you insulin levels, the fat stores are more open.

jamardjk Says:

Aug 12, 2011 - so how to lower insulin levels? and how to tap into my fat stores?
