Even clergy admit that.God is fiction. If He does exist, He certainly can't or won't convince thinkig, intelligent people. God is a placebo for ignorant and superstitious non-thinkers.The best way to lose your faith in God is to READ the entire Bible. More atheists than Christians have READ the entire Bible. May 28, 2012 - Call me a superstitious dumb ass for believing In God and the Bible, and maybe even silly for defending my belief; but, I find it more comical or rather depressing listening to someone who limits them self to practical logic, and attempt to ignore natural elements such as faith, and belief. Life is too magnificent to be limited to logic. The only proof Christians need is Faith; the evidence of things that have yet to be physically seen. If you don't have faith, I don't expect you to understand.

May 28, 2012 - Facilitated? I'm not sure what version of english you're speaking where the word "facilitated" is synonymous with "curb-stomped". Heard of Gallileo? The Catholic church has operated as an enemy regarding science and freedom of thought and information for centuries, only begrudgingly accepting advances when it seemed profitable or they could not maintain that position against the public.Even biblical information was restricted. They used to burn people for owning a bible in english fr'instance.

It was the time around during the Protestant Reformation and the actual amount of opposition was very minute. Very minute to the fact that the validity of using the trial of Galileo Galilei is very questionable. Even if you bring up the fact of the abuse of indulgences by the Catholic church during the 15th century is questionable. It was actually a very isolated problem
