Jun 18, 2009 - I object to the analogy of society as a body. The parts of a human body obviously have to all go in the same direction or the body will die. But society is made up of interdependent individuals, each with their own direction and goals. A free society is just a background where many different dreams play out. It doesn't need to "go" anywhere. A society that's "going somewhere" is usually being led by a dictator.
