Feb 19, 2012 - Fantastic video, always love watching Dejohnette play. Wouldn't the drum left of the hi-hat make it a five piece drum kit? I wouldn't consider it a piece of the hardware.

Feb 25, 2012 - what model do you have? i am interested :) lol

Feb 26, 2012 - Sorry, I sold it last year, but I guess I could have sold it a number of times over judging by the interest. If you're looking for one, it's the old series Sabian Encore ride. It's lathed both sides, unlike the present version.

Feb 28, 2012 - It happens at :27 and 1:09. It's the snare drum throw off just getting loose all by itself. Kind of weird. I've had it happen to me. Must be a weird flaw in that particular throw off.

Feb 28, 2012 - My favorite out of all Miles's drummers. Just watched some solos by Tony Williams from the early 90's and late 80's and he bore the hell out of me. So refreshing to see this after that marathon of just whacking loud singles on some ugly pinstriped dinosaur-kit with the whole musical outcome resembling some sad old rock-geezer trying to impress people with ragged "raw power" instead of sophisticated rudimentalism.
GSWCarr Says:
Feb 28, 2012 - Yes, Jack is truly jaw dropping, but shame on you for trash talking Tony. Your description of him proves you know nothing about the history of jazz drumming. Tony knew every rudiment that has ever existed by the time he was 12. Try watching some videos of him from the 60's when he was in his prime.

Mar 6, 2012 - I am confuse, the description says 4 piece, but this appears to be a 5 piece. Y U NO COUNT, DRUMMERS?

Mar 17, 2012 - sick hats.... so sweet...

Mar 23, 2012 - Geez Luke...you of all people should know that bass drums don't count. That's just silly.
LukeSnyderMusic Says:
Mar 23, 2012 - My favorite is when people are selling a drum set, and they count the cymbals... and the hardware... 15 piece drum set!

Apr 20, 2012 - Sounds like you need to listen to Miles Davis- Four & More... Tony rips the shit out of that. I dislike how we tend to compare greats with each other all the time. Everyone has their own style. This solo, to me, was not as tight as the work i've seen Jack do with Keith. Roach, Williams etc all had their own ideas towards phrasing & building a musical statement/story. I do agree however, that Williams' prime was in the 60's. Check out some Allan Dawson!
