May 5, 2012 - ...this was the first thing I ever heard from Stevie...flipping channels late nite and caught this song at the beginning on Austin City Limits ...then discovered (go back and re-listen) to the Let's Dance album by Bowie...every guiutar note is Stevie...talk about versatile...I liked that he played Hendrix without trying to sound like Hendrix, but nods to him all through his music....RIP, brother...youare sorely missed but never forgotten....

May 11, 2012 - Wow may i have your permission to use that analogy?

AL13NM Says:

May 11, 2012 - It is a proverb and/or metaphor. Not an analogy. But please feel free,Proverbs and such are ancient and pretty much belong to humanity in general.

LedZeppelin420x Says:

May 11, 2012 - Well thank you for correcting me, and thank you for letting me use that genius proverb

AL13NM Says:

May 11, 2012 - It's all good. Another favorite is an old Russian proverb."The tears of a stranger are only water."

AL13NM Says:

May 13, 2012 - Awesome--just awesome! Heard once a few years ago, but they didn't say the name of the song..Heard again today (thank you Sirius) and was able to see the title..The best new music for me is the old music I keep discovering--I'll take IT over any of this crap today!

May 16, 2012 - to this day I wonder how the world would be if S.R.V was still here writing his soul into song. he had power to change the world, to influence and inspire a generation of greatness and higher understanding to the blues.but as a 17 year old throwback what do I know? im just trying to learn his songs for fun. right?

mattman870 Says:

May 17, 2012 - Im still learning this difficult masterpiece of music on the guitar. What makes me wonder is that as great an artist S.R.V was how did he think of this masterpiece? I figure it wasnt just a song that was played, or heard. It was his soul speaking to us through his guitar. and as an experienced guitar player, one can only create a profund piece of art by feeling not thinking.

AL13NM Says:

May 17, 2012 - I can think of worse ways to spend your time.S.R.V. left an invaluable musical legacy, died at the top of his game and past on into Legend.I dont mourn his death but celebrate his life by enjoying and sharing his music. And for that I feel fortunate and am thankful.

mattman870 Says:
