Mar 7, 2011 - arthritis is a word that can be pronounced differently and it isn't because of certain dialects either. I live in Pennsylvania and we pronounce it like "Aw-Thr-I-Tis". The "r" is pronounced like a Boston "r" or a British "r" sort of, now that I think of it haha, but it's pretty weird.
