May 30, 2012 - He's skipping the chalk. Normally, you slant and drag the chalk away from the tip. But if you push the chalk towards the tip, or hold it at 90 degrees to the board when the tip is flat, it will skip if your hand is relaxed. It's similar to when you scoot a chair across the floor, skip a rock on water, or the eraser on the end of a pencil will sometimes skip. A piece of paper pressed against a pen or pencil and pushed with your thumb will skip.
