With the Fender Blacktop Strat HH the design team at Fender has rethought the iconic Stratocaster as a lean, mean, no-frills rock machine. It's stripped down look lends the Blacktop HH the personality of a bare-knuckle brawler, with tone to match, thanks to a pair of high-output Alnico pickups. These pickups, in concert with custom 5-way switching, let you get a wide range of fat humbucking and single-coil tones from the Fender Blacktop Strat HH. The Alder body comes finished in your choice of Sonic Blue, Candy Apple Red, or Black with a black pickguard, with chrome hardware and black-skirted amp knobs completing the raw look. The 9.5" radius fingerboard has 22 med jumbo frets, and is available in rosewood or maple, making this axe great for just about any style. Jan 11, 2012 - Very different tones. A Gibson is made of Mahogany so it has a deeper crunch. This has a brighter tone. Think Sonic Youth.

Feb 6, 2012 - if you like a LP than go for one. Look for a Gibson LP studio they are very affordable you can get them for 600€ and they sound bad ass!

Feb 20, 2012 - hey proguitarshop, i have a question, how you get the stratocaster, using the tremolo and stay in tune,? i mean if i use the tremolo bar it go out of tune, with a little work you ge it to work but then if you do a bending, then its out of tune, tnx

Feb 29, 2012 - probably using a tremsetter, it replaces one of the springs in the back and holds the guitar in tune when using vibrato.

Apr 30, 2012 - I am thinking of getting a Fender Blacktop Stratocaster HH, but I am confused on which to choose, the one with the Floyd Rose or with the Vintage Style Tremelo. I use the Tremelo every now and then, not all the time, and whenever I do, I do divebombs ( I currently have a Squier Hot Rails Stratocaster with a 2 point tremelo). I have heard Floyd Roses can be really complicated to re-tune and re-string. Really, if the Vintage Style Tremelo can stay in tune and be as loose as a 2 point, I'll buy it.

Dec 21, 2011 - what are the advantages of this over a gibson sort of thing? as i guess that's what fender were getting at with the dual humbuckers... is it just a playability/comfort thing? how different are they tonally? like this so he can see it, or answer if you know pwease. :3
