Mar 30, 2012 - check out Lane's version, it's unbelieveable

Apr 1, 2012 - Carlos Santana? he"s famous for playing Peter Greens black magic women, & Green is a much better guitar player than Carlos. Page is a great riff player, but not in Becks league. Duane Allman & Hendrix I agree are great. Ry Cooder would be a serious rival to Allman when it comes to playing bottleneck. ps Peter greens albatross is still untouchable for tone it is the benchmark in guitar playing. BB King once said Peter Greens tone made him sweat, it was that good..

MrMotthead69 Says:

Apr 1, 2012 - Peter Green's tone is NICE but Duane Allman's tone is OTHERWORLDLY...c'mon man, as far as Carlos is concerned you're singling out ONE tune from his repertoire of thousands?...sorry man but Carlos stands as the #3 greatest R&R axe-murder behind Duane & Jimi and slightly ahead of Page, Beck & Trower...

MrMotthead69 Says:

Apr 1, 2012 - Page is also MUCHO More than a "riff player" as he takes you on a guitar journey after journey in most of his compositions...

dan32113 Says:

Apr 2, 2012 - oh please! BB Kings actual quote was Peter Green has the sweetest tone i"ve ever heard. Thats not some bar player giving that compliment, its the guitar Legend BB King. You must be the only person who thinks Santana is better than Jeff Beck. Even Clapton & Page say Beck is number 1. Jeff is considered the man, & rightly so! Because he is the best, he started alot of the stuff, Hendrix gets the credit for, he was ahead of his time & still is!

Apr 8, 2012 - Kinda funny only time I like Jeff Beck Is when I hear some one sing with his music else I get bored of him.

lamiamano Says:

Apr 9, 2012 - Jeff Beck is like good wine : he gets better with time! What a musician. He puts the mark where he stands : right up there with the best guitarists.Sting is definetely out of groove here and is disturbing.

lamiamano Says:

Apr 9, 2012 - you're right. Sting spoils it.

prikitiwster Says:

Apr 9, 2012 - oh God jeff beck rules!

joeshowallme Says:

Apr 10, 2012 - Looks like Sting couldn't handle the truth about his off key, listless voice, and had it removed.

katchoo82 Says:

Apr 12, 2012 - I agree, sorry sting ruins it!

xavictor Says:

Apr 14, 2012 - jeff is awesome, but he always lacked that improvising part of guitar playing, and always gets stuf arranged and spot on. i always liked more his opposite j page. just a matter of taste ;)

whynottalklikeapirat Says:

Apr 15, 2012 - Sting has been officially labeled "a disturber of the peace"

whynottalklikeapirat Says:

Apr 15, 2012 - I curious what makes you say that. It seems to me that he is very immediate and improvises more than most?? If you listen to various live versions of the same song they're quite different ...

xavictor Says:

Apr 15, 2012 - well, its kinda a known thing. in led zepp book "when giants walked the earth", they kinda talked about beck. ofc he can improvise, he is an amazing guitarist. its just that its not one of his best traits ;)

whynottalklikeapirat Says:

Apr 15, 2012 - Thats interesting. He's quite obsessive about things in the studio, to a point where I really prefer the live performances so maybe he needs that certain level of control. The final expression however to me sounds quite spur of the moment - but that may well be in the delivery of the material. Sure theres kind of an "arc" to his soloing, but thats true of most guitarists, I think, that they conceptualize and then experiment within that context. Few are completely open every time.

gfhtgful Says:

Apr 17, 2012 - Sting Fucks it up so well.
