Feb 21, 2012 - @NavyDothis fight has definitely gone both ways in the wild, if eagles have been foolish enough to take such risks. there's no defense against the power and precision of an eagle's ambush dive, but weasel relatives are cunning and lightning fast. pound for pound the deadliest creatures alive. The honey badger and the wolverine are the largest of them. Bears leave wolverines alone. If the badger sees a shadow it will turn around and catch that eagle faster than it can react.

Feb 21, 2012 - Honestly I've yet to hear of such a thing ever happening in the wild. I live with golden eagles and I have in fact seen them usurping kills from and even teasing American badgers. The badgers were never able to fight them off. Watch this video from 19:25.../watch?v=NeDShLkrcoMAccording to that video, the eagle wasn't even an adult (implied because it said an adult would finish off the badger quickly). Badgers are tough animals, but little match for large eagles.

Apr 2, 2012 - I don't think that's blood, it looks like it was put on possibly to mark the sheep, the other sheep has the same mark

May 11, 2012 - Well, having visited the NW of Scotland a fair few times, I can say that a lot of the sheep up there definitely ARE marked with dye, or sometimes even what appears to be spray-paint.
cosmic2castaway Says:
May 15, 2012 - @chasm671 They are MARKED, not tagged. I was right, the dye they use for marking is not permanent, and used to see which sheep have been bred. They also use many different colors and symbols to mark individual ownership of ship, but they change patterns and color often. No, they don't spray paint sheep (not legally anyway). There is a legal way to tag sheep, and I didn't see any where in the clip where they had ear tags, or other TAGS. So, my assuming it's blood is valid.
