Apr 24, 2012 - Some artists ARE trying, but the media and the people them selves don't let real music be listened... "big money goes around the world"...

Apr 27, 2012 - To be fair the late 80's/early 90's were awash with talent. We didn't realise it because we thought it'd always be like that.I know the CT were earlier but there was a mashup from the 80's to the 90's that was just perfect, punk mixed with dub, house mixed with inidie, indie mixed with rock.I'd never give up growing up during those years

Apr 29, 2012 - 8 dislikes..quite incredible
LittleBabyWheeler Says:
May 1, 2012 - Quite incredible that those 8 bastards are probably still alive! Injustice, I tell you!
vivalobosable Says:
May 4, 2012 - Thank you! I'm so sick of these kinds of discussions. Although taste in music is ultimately subjective, you can still develop objective means to critiquing music based on its artistic merit and value. You can like whatever you want. But some music (and other art) is of higher quality than others.
vivalobosable Says:
May 4, 2012 - I think "Blue Bell Knoll" is the best place to start, personally. Its a good bridge between their earlier, more industrial work (Treasure), and their later poppier work. I also think its just brilliantly done.
EnDZYm3 Says:
May 4, 2012 - EXACTLY, the point I was making. People don't study "bad" music just as much as they study "good" music. Do people like bad music? Well duh. Do people dislike good music? Of course. I don't understand why he didn't understand that.
EnDZYm3 Says:
May 4, 2012 - >People don't study "bad" music just as much as they study "good" music.I didn't mean to have the"don't" in there. Take it out and it makes sense.
kokoroseiheki Says:
May 7, 2012 - There is much talent out there. You just have to know where to look. This has to be done all on your own, because unlike the old days - the good music will never even come close to really mainstream. The truly mainstream nowadays, is absolute garbage.
karmaburna Says:
May 11, 2012 - people have been saying that kind of thing as long as history goes back. its an illusion. just because you've gone dead to new influences and you've forgotten just how much shit music was around in previous decades (same as now) doesn't mean that people have stopped being creative. there is plenty of good music... time filters out the dross, and imbues what was great with a golden glow beyond what it had at the time.genuinely unique bands like massive attack however, have always been rare.
Руслан Удовиченко Says:

May 20, 2012 - If there were, we wouldn't have to dig. Music is a wasteland, but the oasis' are slowly becoming more frequent.
petrunic1 Says:
May 20, 2012 - you always had to dig for good music. through the '70, '80, and the '90.. good music in my opinion was never on the surface. like this song for example. a masterpiece...but you had to inform yourself a bit....about the band, about the music they play. it was never in front of you..forced in your ears...like all the crap today.
