May 22, 2012 - You can consider it beeing about drugs, like many other songs from DM (ex: never let me down again). But at it's core i belive that it just reflects the baisis of true belive. The idea of a higher beeing that listens to you and forghives you. But in this particular song, the enphasis on the word "personal" points at the beter person within everybody. That someone we believe we can be but never can trully reach it. Many people, mostly religious see this person as the reflection of God.
