Apr 23, 2012 - By the way Atkins diet is a low-carb diet ...For more details try 'difference between Atkins and Paleo' at paleohacks .
kronier Says:
Apr 24, 2012 - As I said, check out durianriders channel for comprehensive debunking of the bro science which supports the paleo movement. Did you read those books I suggested or just look at the pictures? You actually have to READ a book if you want to read it.... and if you genuinely did, then you've forgotten it. Also watch forkes over knives, read the china study... I don't want to continue talking about paleo because it makes me cringe.
SethBlizzard Says:
Apr 30, 2012 - Schools actually serve pizza and hamburgers?! I come from Iceland and we had sandwiches and fruit juice or milk. Anyone caught with pizza or burgers or the like was reported instantly. Is it any wonder there's a health epidemic in America?
inMuro Says:
May 6, 2012 - i come from the netherlands too, and for all those who think this way of eating lunch is just an exception, i can confirm that 99% of the population does this. i think other countries have the same thing going on, maybe with warm meals in the afternoon, which is fine too. As long as you don't eat chicken nuggets 24/7, it's fine.
pyrlalah Says:
May 6, 2012 - Yeah true, but I think the choice of buying fast food in primary schools is wrong they should be able to eat healthy and if a child gets the choice; a banana or chicken nuggets, i think 80% of the kids would prefer chicken nuggets ;)
Jessica Ng Says:
May 8, 2012 - They shouldn't offer milk at school lunches in the first place. It doesn't make sense. It doesn't taste good without sugar, and the stuff itself is disgusting crap that does nothing for your calcium levels (although they try to argue that it does) and screws up your nutrient intake.
Shamzie Ahmed Says:
May 9, 2012 - I don't know why their laughing this is serious IDIOTS
Shamzie Ahmed Says:
May 9, 2012 - Well I'm glad to say to you that I'm from England and I can proudly say that our school are improving massively with healthy food. So atleast we're doing something about it. America isnt even trying to do or wont do it.
simcoeregionchapter Says:
May 9, 2012 - what a shame that he does not mention that the cows that give the so called "milk" are fed GMO CORN and SOY. I suppose TED does not allow him to mention GMO'S.....
pigeonpsycho Says:
May 9, 2012 - Wonder if Oliver knows the bigger plan at work here, Agenda 21, Sovietization of the world etc.
pigeonpsycho Says:
May 9, 2012 - And if Jamie is so educated on food he should know raw food is the best solution.
JanetUSA Says:
May 10, 2012 - Of course this isn't optimal health information, but people/government won't turn on a dime. But they might take baby steps. But corporate America lies and will tell you anything you want to hear about what they are selling. Bottom line is vote with your dollars.
3623007 Says:
May 10, 2012 - dont eat McDonald's KFC etc...
2healthnuts Says:
May 11, 2012 - I thought the same thing! What he is doing is a beginning. Will it work? I don't know but I know there are groups that don't want it to.
CatsbyG Says:
May 12, 2012 - The audience did not applaud when he got his wish to be put in front of influential people. Go Jamie!
euphoricrose Says:
May 12, 2012 - That can be argued, but regardless of if that's true or not, it's not cost efficient or realistic to impose a raw diet on millions of people. You CAN be healthy and still eat meat/cooked food.
pigeonpsycho Says:
May 12, 2012 - It's not cost efficient to NOT cook food? Weird logic. Cooked food puts more work on the digestive system, it's not natural to eat cooked food. In fact it speeds up the ageing process. Yes you can be healthy by cooking food, but why heat up and destroy a lot of the goodness? If you want maximum efficiency, raw is the way to go. It just takes knowledge and knowledge is power.
euphoricrose Says:
May 12, 2012 - I mean to try and sustain yourself on a purely raw diet. To get all the protein, vitamins and minerals you need you have to eat a LOT of raw food (my sister is a hardcore vegan and she tried a raw diet for months, it did not work out for her). It's VERY difficult to sustain yourself on a raw diet and not cost efficient for most people.
cwwcs Says:
May 15, 2012 - Mcdonalds is the largest employer in the world. If someone gets fat as fuck it's their fault not ours.
thewarriorsrok Says:
May 16, 2012 - Speak for yourself, I'm not falling into the trap of fast food no matter how much advertisements they throw at me. Like a Gazelle outpacing a Cheetah, I'm using Darwinian selection to escape their fat jaws and become a superior organism. If people aren't smart enough to avoid them, tough shit, I'd rather be broke and free than have the government control business in that way to save some cash.
YouLiekPiez Says:
May 16, 2012 - Looks at the dislikes 'LOL 69....'
livinglaurenlove Says:
May 20, 2012 - I have been a RAW Vegan for two years now and I have never looked or felt better. Many Vegans and even RAW peeps make the mistake of NOT culturing their nuts & seeds. By doing this, you are creating B12 and amino acids. With the incorporation of that, the diet is flawless and I suggest EVERYONE try it!
euphoricrose Says:
May 20, 2012 - Again, I'm not saying sustaining yourself on that type of diet is impossible...I'm saying that it's difficult and you have to ingest more food..and for many, that type of diet is just too expensive and/or too difficult to maintain. For those willing to commit to it, it's great, but it's not realistic to suggest that everyone should do it.
jburt56 Says:
May 22, 2012 - Aerobic exercise >3 times a week, 500 calories or more each session.

Apr 23, 2012 - I have read one of Dr. Neal Barnard's book back in 1999.Read McDougall Program even before that.Maybe I should check out their latest.Rice, broccoli, beef, egg yolks are all good. Real science? I do try. Real doctors? Let's not even go there.Maybe you should also take a look at Perfect Health Diet, blogs by Denise Minger , Anthony Colpo and Kurt Harris. Perhaps we can both learn from each other.suggestions.
