May 29, 2012 - If somebody talks about suicide, they say that if they talk about it don't believe it, but you don't know. They are crying out for help and that is the only way to get someones help.  Listen closely, you being there for somebody that wants to commit or cause harm to themselves, is crying out for help, so be there for them regardless.

May 29, 2012 - If they are willing to talk then listen.....It's the ones that don't talk about it that hurt the most.....I'm 53 and in my life I've talked 3 people out of suicide and listen to at least 5 that were talking about it and I'm proud to say I've never lost anyone that I loved to suicide....It might not be easy but usually someone needs to talk really bad to get out alot of hurt and sometimes just listening will help them out so much....

May 29, 2012 - I agree, and I'm glad that's being taught more. Most of the time, the driving force behind people who want to end their lives is that they don't think anyone realizes the pain that they're going through. Most of the time, all they need to break the cycle is someone who will listen to them and hear out all their problems. It's a shame that most people aren't helped like this before it's too late.
