Duration: 2:14
Description:
This is the oldest church choir in the world. A childrens choir that has sung on every Sunday at the Regensburg Cathedral for more than 1,000 years. In Rome, theyve performed in one of the most sacred and exciting places on earth: The Sistine Chapel, the same place where conclaves are held to elect the popes. This time their performance was even more special, a tribute to the Popes only brother Georg Ratzinger, who turned 85. He has been director of the Regensburger Domspatzen, the choir of the Regensburg Cathedral, for 40 years. BENEDICT XVI Your 85 years have not always been easy. When you were born, inflation was coming to an end, and many people, including our own parents, had lost all their savings. But weve always seen how the goodness of God has called you and guided you. This is the second performance at the Vatican for this choir. This time, they performed Mozarts Great Mass in C minor. The Pope recalled that both he and his brother heard it for the first time in Salzburg, Austria back in 1941. And in hearing it, they somehow saw the magnificence and beauty of God. He also said that it was a hymn of thanksgiving, but also expressed an intense internal struggle, the search for forgiveness and Gods mercy: the history of all men.

Jun 11, 2010 - if they sold most of their gold and jewels they can feed many poor countries immediatly, i would love to see a pope dressed in simple brown robes, no gold rings or necklaces or staves, and live in a simple monastery instead of a luxurious building.....ahh one can dream

Jul 27, 2010 - @crazyknight2008: They could feed the poor, yet they will still be hungry in one month... the poor and sick will always be with us.

Sep 4, 2010 - Read the Parable of the Good Samaritan&tell me what the parable's about. Also what is the greatest commandment of all.Catholics are the only Christians who don't mock another Church or believe. They forgive&gave pedophiles another chance.Love your enemies as Jesus did.Don't forget how Jesus treated Samaritans, prostitutes&other sinners in His time.An extreme example of Love is how Jesus spent His private time walkin/talkin with a shockin companion during his 40 days in the desert!!
SimonCU Says:
Sep 4, 2010 - Read the Parable of the Talents. I think you don't know why the poor is poor and why the rich is rich. There is a reason and no one can save the poor. They need to save themselves and that Parable explains everything. It's all been written!! Even if the rich tries to help them they will always suffer. READ IT!!

Sep 5, 2010 - Burning, torture, killing, crucifixion was done on Jesus by the Romans and Jesus said "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." (Luke 23:34).But if you go against the greatest commandment it's very difficult for Jesus to say Luke23:34.Just remember how Jesus Love sinners as He preferred to be in the company of them throughout the Bible. Mocking a Church doesn't show love. There are some VERY wonderful Catholics I know personally.God will judge them not us.
SimonCU Says:
Sep 5, 2010 - Sorry pls give me the exact location where you obtain that quote. If it is not there it's not from God. Yes there are wonderful people everywhere so don't mock a church that contains SOME wonderful people. It doesn't show love on your side. Understand why Jesus preferred the companion of sinners throughout the Bible. Only Nazis mock another Religion. Remember you are also insulting SOME innocent Catholics who are very loving in nature. LOVE them (greatest commandment of all).
SimonCU Says:
Sep 5, 2010 - READ the Parable of the Talents and you will know why the rich will get richer and the poor will get poorer. It's all written even if they sold everything and gave it to the poor the poor will not invest in it. They will use it up and in a few years they will be poor again. It's all written!

Nov 25, 2009 - God bless this Pope, I pray God gives him many more years to guide his beloved church. The world needs more leaders like Pope Benedict XVI, a man who stands up for God in this ever increasing evil secular world.
