Title: 10 Tips When Eating Paleo

Description:
http://www.paleocookbook.com Enjoy eating paleo. Enjoy what you eat. If you are unhappy with what you are eating you are unlikely to continue to keep eating that way, and once the nutrition is gone, staying fit and healthy becomes much harder.Pre-cook food. Spend a few hours at the beginning of the week and cook big batches of food. This will allow you to minimise the amount of time that you have to spend cooking during the week.Cook more that you need. This is similar to the previous tip, the idea being that if you cook more than you need for one meal then you can eat it later, or the next day.Rather than cutting yourself off from all of those foods which you enjoy that arent 100% paleo friendly, simply eat smaller amounts and be moderate.Do not keep junk/unhealthy food that you know you shouldnt eat, in the house. For most people, if it is in the house they will eventually eat it.Do not run out of food. This is horrible. Do not let it happen to you.Try planning out your meals for a week. This comes easily to type one personalities, for the rest of us it can be a nuisance. Though this has the benefit of ensuring you know what you need in the house for the week, and eliminates that time wasting period during which you try and figure out what you should cook for dinner.Keep a handy meal replacement shake/can of tuna in your car/office/desk/bag for a paleo friendly snack in case plans change.Learn to use spices; this will do wonders for you and will offer variety and different flavors to your meals.Eat lots of vegetables; try and eat a good variety with many different colours. Jan 19, 2012 - You should conduct your own survey, ensure that only new science doctors participate. Good luck finding them!

FathomlessJoy Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - "Fact: Increasing saturated fat while reducing carbs improves triglycerides." Strange, blood triglycerides are a measurement of old science. Hmmm, seems like you pick and choose, which is typical with SAD.

FathomlessJoy Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - Strange thing is about 75% of paleo is on the mark, I admit that. The problem is that about 50% of SAD is on the mark, and yet peeps are still dropping like flies. That 25% carries a hell of a wallop. Take Dr. Atkins for "Atkins" fame, who old science can't stand, he developed severe, incurable heart disease and he had access to the highest quality organics in the world. Sad but true, and paleo is a reformed version of Atkins, which is just a moderations of SAD.

LCHFinCanada Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - Fathomless you need to go away.Your dogma is stupid.Your arguments even moreso. Alberta made his points perfectly clear, and you pervert them.Just go away troll, you're unwelcome.

LCHFinCanada Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - @FathomlessIdiot how the HECK do you figure triglycerides are a measurement of old science? You aren't very bright. And if you're suggesting Alberta said that- then you're even more stupid.Everybody who knows modern medicine understands that the ratio of HDL cholesterol to triglycerides is the best indicator of heart disease.AlbertaBeef is bang-on that science, a higher ratio of trigs to HDL is indicative of heart disease, and eating saturated fats lowers that.

LCHFinCanada Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - Nobody that follows paleo looks at it from one point. You can't disprove that the lipid hypothesis is crap, can you?You keep citing carcinogens even though you've had that disproven.Staph infection? What about eColi and salmonella in veggies? dumb argument.Toxins in fish are easy to avoid, My livestock eats grass in a pasture, what's the issue with that.Your only issue is your PERCEIVED (YOUR OPINION) barbarism. So don't participate in it. Go away and shut up now.

LCHFinCanada Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - the guy didn't say they're health foods, he said they're part of a healthy diet, which science (even cardiologists) agree with. Dippy.

LCHFinCanada Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - Didn't albertabeef point you to SEVERAL cardiologists that believe what he said? I know I saw that comment...You still delusional, I guess?

LCHFinCanada Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - Um.. Ihate to point this out, but the guy that brings science and logic into the arguments isn't the childish one.You are.Wow, you're not very bright, are you? Must be your diet. You're just a vegan shill. Go away, troll.

LCHFinCanada Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - I love that FathomlessJoy states that people don't listen to cardiologists when Alberta mentioned three - I looked them all up and sure enough, the all mention exactly what alberta said...Fathomless doesn't read, he just keeps shouting his propaganda. Don't listen to him. Maybe block him even so you don't read his idiocy, LOL.

LCHFinCanada Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - Fathomless, what are your brilliant qualifications? I happen to have studied and worked in health sciences for years. As somebody involved in current research, I do, in fact, read current studies. I can assure you that most doctors do NOT. Their information comes primarily from drug company literature.Believing any working doctor is "up" or "in the know" on current medical research is ridiculous. They 1) don't have time; and, 2) most don't really care.

LCHFinCanada Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - And that's why so few doctors really know yet that the lipid hypothesis is garbage. They were taught that saturated fat = bad, whole grains = good, and that's all they know.Except doctors like Dr. William Davis, Dr. Andreas Eenfeldt, Dr. Eric Westman, Dr. Stephan Sinatra, Dr. Uffe Ravnskov, Dr. Michael Eades, Dr. Donald W. Miller Jr, Dr. Malcolm Kendrick, and many, many more.More doctors are learning every day, the information is slowly getting out there. So Fathomless - you're just wrong.

LCHFinCanada Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - As for your assertion no cardiologist calls saturated fat "health food"...Try Dr. Donald W. Miller Jr., MD who has a talk called "Enjoy Saturated Fats, They're good for you!"I suppose this cardiovascular surgeon who routinely performs coronary bypass surgery knows NOTHING, right? Troll...lewrockwell*com/miller/miller38.1.html

VegansDontLikeTruth Says:

Jan 19, 2012 - @FathomIessJoy "Take Dr. Atkins for "Atkins" fame, who old science can't stand, he developed severe, incurable heart disease "Liar. Derp.Atkins didn't die of anything related to his diet, or anything curable. He had cardiomyopathy which doctors that had examined him state was likely from a viral infection. You don't like telling the truth, do you? You don't like learning the truth, either I suppose.

fvalen001 Says:

Feb 11, 2012 - I still dont get it. It's okay to cook (aka, process) and eat meat, but it's not okay to eat beans (legumes) because they have been cooked (aka, processed), - so is cooking bad?

fvalen001 Says:

Feb 11, 2012 - I got it...supposedly beans are not of the paleo period, and is lumped in with farming/processing, like wheat. Okay. Here's something else I found out - on this diet...YOU CAN NOT DRINK BEER (or alcohol, or any sort)....well...how many guys out there want to sign up for that? And as for cooking meat, I guess our early ancestors cooked their meat (at some period)...why not do it naturally, like apes (occasionally do)...eat it raw?

LiandaLudwig Says:

Feb 12, 2012 - Yes, eating is very important to your health- eating the foods our bodies were meant to consume. But there are other variables that are frequently ignored- there are a huge number of people who undiagnosed problems with their thyroid function, and STRESS has also had a tremendous impact on adrenals- which makes it difficult to lose weight EVEN ON A PALEO plan. Make sure you take time to de-stress.

DiabeticDaddy76 Says:

Feb 14, 2012 - I love this video! Would you be willing topmost it as a video response to on of my Paleo Vlog videos?

MrGchiasson Says:

Feb 20, 2012 - Been on 'Paleo' for about 5 weeks.. lost ten pound already. the first thing I did was toss any food that wasn't strictly 'Paleo'. Went shopping and loaded up on the good stuff. You know, this lifestyle really isn't hard at all.. Exercise is producing results too. Short sprints on the treadmill are much better then the old..walk 1/2 hour stuff.. I can do over 25 pushups now with no problem.Lifting heavier weights too. I'm 58 years old//wish I'd learned this decades ago!

petrichoramour Says:

Feb 28, 2012 - Cooking is not bad but beans and grains contain high amounts of lechtins which can damage your intestine which could lead to chronic inflamation and ultimately to autoimmune disorders.

MassacreBlast Says:

Mar 13, 2012 - I eat mainly fruit and some veg. Then I'll have like two lean cheeseburgers for dinner on whole wheat bread with cheese. I only use two pieces of bread and one slice of cheese total. I find this is more manageable. Cutting out bread completely is dogmatic in my opinion. Practice portion control with bread and stay away from bleached flour bread (white).

HotButterOnToast Says:

Apr 1, 2012 - how in the world are meal replacement shakes paleo?! This is just Atkins rebranded.

amba355 Says:

Apr 21, 2012 - @aauumqo ive been a personal trainer for 20 years and the Paleo diet is one of my of my favorites but it is very hard for my clients to prepare regular Paleo meals learning one or 2 recipes is easy but by far the best resource is the Paleo recipe book and meal plan this will help keep your Paleo diet on track and has tons of yummy recipes have a look here >>> bit.ly/JgeKAw?=qodwq

paleodiet Says:

May 19, 2012 - Although not 100% paleo, you can have meal replacement shakes made up of egg albumen powder (add your own natural flavors). The 'Paleo Sweets' cookbook by Nikki Young uses egg albumen in paleo protein bar recipes which is a bonus cookbook - Google if interested. There are other meal replacements that are a better fit for paleo followers. Just because something isn't 100% paleo and sourced in nature, doesn't mean it cannot be beneficial to our health and lifestyle in our modern day environment.
