Jan 18, 2012 - we, that grew up around ronnie and rocked out at his local shows, all knew ronnie was on his on his way to be the the shining star that he was/is. feel lucky to say we mingled with ron and his band, elf, in the early 70's. wasnt long after that, i was watching him on stage at the war memorial, with a sell-out crowd.

My favorite DIO's songs are from ELF (Nevermore, Hoochie Koochie, Dixie lee, etc ...). I understand why R. Blackmore picked them up, and why Glover and Paice produced their albums.

Feb 4, 2012 - Wow! I could listen to Ronnie James Dio all day long. What a powerful and beautiful VOICE! Goes to show what great vocal training can do. I liked the fact he trained as an opera singer and then ran with it and created his own unique sound. Just incredible! He'll be missed. The last of the great Heavy Metal Rock vocalists. RIP Ronnie and thanks for the memories. :(
