Apr 10, 2012 - if u recall, a lot of her roles don't have her singing any super high notes.. the exception being some songs in MFL. plus she has never done any actual opera if I recall.

Mavarla Says:

Apr 11, 2012 - Are there *any* adequately, sterling, superlatives in the English language to do this archival recording *justice*...? This child was *clearly a winner then, and, a winner NOW*: Winners never become "losers" until they stop smiling and give up all hope. She was my HEROINE as a girl in the mid-sixties on account of "Mary Poppins" and "The Sound of Music." May The Good Lord bless and allow Julie Andrews to remain with us as long as He can stand to be without her....

villageguy13 Says:

May 1, 2012 - The fact that anyone can mention Jackie Evancho and Julie Andrews in the same sentence is morbid Ignorance. Julie Andrews is SUPERIOR when she was that age and always will be!

satorikonigsberg Says:

May 1, 2012 - Amen

aloyvender Says:

amadi5x5 Says:

May 5, 2012 - I always knew she could sing but this was amazing!

harrietamidala1691 Says:

May 5, 2012 - It's a shame. Can you just imagine her singing the most famous arias of opera?

ctn04132 Says:

May 5, 2012 - I do. But if she had taken that route, she might not be the Julie Andrews we know today :) then again, look at Rebecca Caine (original Cosette in Les Miserables and original Canadian Christine Daae in Phantom of the Opera) who had a wonderful opera career after finishing Phantom in Toronto :)

ctn04132 Says:

May 5, 2012 - lol I cracked up at that! such a straightforward 12 yr old lol!

Mavarla Says:

May 12, 2012 - @austrianmonkey: Still *MIGHTILY* enjoying this amazing upload: *Thank you* so, again, for posting it in 2007...not only is it an incredible snapshot into the psyche of one of the greatest Singers, ever, but, a positively, quaint glimpse into an England and its endearing, native society which I fear, simply is no more....

soulfire13100 Says:

May 13, 2012 - I so want to sing like Julie Andrews. She is such a beautiful and talented lady. I love her as an actress and a singer

anadorkablegirl Says:

May 14, 2012 - She definitely had the talent, but I don't quite see where you're coming from with you're "it's a shame" comment...Julie Andrews was and is a lovely woman, actress, singer, and I don't think she has a single career decision to be ashamed of. She may not have had a season of stardom singing arias, instead she will live on beyond her own lifetime in the hearts of many as Maria von Trapp, Mary Poppins, and Eliza Doolittle...and through it all, she has remained the same lovely lady.

KegPatcha Says:

May 16, 2012 - This world would be a lot different with more singers, dancers, painters, musicians, etc., than with business men, lawyers and politicians.

Indira Lofflin Says:

May 28, 2012 - beautiful

mary12496 Says:
