400 Yard 30-06 Shooting

It loses a lot of velocity after only 100 yards, and out to 400 yards that bullet is going to drop by a matter of a few feet. You make a video of you shooting something (iron sights!) at 400 yards with a 30-06, and I will be impressed

Mar 30, 2012 - I haven't owned a 30-06 in quite some time but the ballistics of a 30-06 at 400 yards are almost identical to a 5.56 of which I own several. I routinely make 400-450 yard shots on iron sights at man sized targets. My average hits in near center mass are about 65%. It really isn't that difficult once you get used to accommodating for the bullet drop which is not a few feet but a mere 21-22 inches. Here is a good ballistics chart so you can check your facts.
