Feb 6, 2012 - @TheGirlyLolita the problem with education systems are that students are forced to memorize things, instead of "learning" and "discovering" things which is really the main purpose of education as systems are supposed to be student-oriented. I'm not being boastful but teachers gave me feedback that I can think better intellectually than those in higher honors in my class. It's actually the things you discover in the way you prefer :) too bad schools limit it sometimes to reading

Feb 6, 2012 - I don't get the "Frank sent this" part, could someone explain? Thanks
MulattoZygote Says:
Feb 6, 2012 - In a way, trying to be original is unoriginal. We have this stale belief of originality. If you copy someone and call it original, you are being original by breaking the stale, unoriginal belief.
MulattoZygote Says:
Feb 6, 2012 - Oh wait, even a twist seems unoriginal generally.
MulattoZygote Says:
Feb 6, 2012 - damn it, I just created another twist diagnosing the unoriginality of twist.

Feb 7, 2012 - @jj987987987 Talking about when frank ate the apple and the girl was like woah ho hoh ho apple pie get it?
SamuelHorler Says:
Feb 8, 2012 - @MulattoZygote Well in that case your method of conception may be original (though it isn't since loads of people copy others and call it their own) but the act or idea wouldn't be original. Original has an objective meaning. People can be truly original in their ideas and paths.
Unracom Says:
Feb 8, 2012 - Thank you...
MulattoZygote Says:
Feb 8, 2012 - @SamuelHorler None of the people that copy and call it their own came up with this concept. I've made it substantial and they didn't.

Feb 8, 2012 - omg this guy tells too many jokes 1 after another,i wanted to hear a serious speach with serious facts
DanceDiggy Says:
Feb 8, 2012 - @MulattoZygote I think copying is not original. I am pretty sure every kid has copied in school and people continue to copy all the time.
DanceDiggy Says:
Feb 8, 2012 - He equates creativity with artistic exploration. No one denies many painters, singers, dancers, etc. are creative. However, he never addressed how to get someone through an education learning things like math and science, in order to be a physicist or business person, while still maintaining creativity. He also assumes that creativity cannot be had in a math class and that seems inaccurate. Programmers require loads of creativity to create new algorithms but also require mathematical skills.
MulattoZygote Says:
Feb 8, 2012 - @DanceDiggy Those that can't make my original argument on copying aren't.
BJ219 Says:
Feb 8, 2012 - My God, this is basically what I've been hearing from Salma Khan recently. It is so, so true. I would like to see a TED talk about how to resuscitate stifled creativity, how to make our minds, quenched by the education system, once again reignited into their original creative state.Imagine if we all were conversant in the things taught in schools while still maintaining our ability to create and innovate. How would the world look?

Feb 9, 2012 - Some people want young white females to mix with non-white males. I made a one-minute video highlighting a very small sample of race-mixing advertisements.I love white people, and I am opposed to race-mixing. But I do not hate non-whites.If you click on my name "awhitesoul2012" highlighted in blue below this comment, you can watch my video.Thanks.

Feb 11, 2012 - Creativity is a form of Intelligence.Great example is an experiment where constantly the educated people excelled until it was a creative solution test and the only one who came close was the artist.

Feb 11, 2012 - @DanceDiggy Wow, I'm impressed. Seriously, if those that're in charge of our educational system are as smart as you are, the system would not be a mess today. It's scary that some people always equate math and science as subject matters where you "just plug in formulas."America, America.... Sigh. It's doomed. If people can "just plug in formulas," everybody could be a scientist.
ttiiyy Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @DanceDiggy I 100% agree with you that the definition of creativity is often too narrow. Without creativity, people would have never been able to invent new medications or other electronic equipments. For some mysterious reasons, why do people often equate creativity with art only?
TheGirlyLolita Says:
Feb 11, 2012 - @SnappyHip Couldn't agree more. For instance, I find it so easy to learn new stuff over the internet, YouTube for e.g. In school I was forced to stay at a desk for almost an hour and listen to a bored person talking. I didn't have images, videos, I couldn't PAUSE the speech to be able to process and assimilate the information and so on. Also, if you think about it, forcing a person to eat when they are not hungry, only makes them hate food or eating. NOW I'm "hungry" for knowledge.
rh001YT Says:
Feb 12, 2012 - From time to time I return here to bring things back to reality. Education ENHANCES creativity! People, please think this through. If you had lackluster teachers or are lackluster yourself, that is not a condemnation of the educational system which produces mind-boggling creativity. Some subjects like history may seem boring to kids, but in adulthood it is critical for understanding life. And please don't forget basic survival - you must work, you are tied to food & water & energy sources.

TheGirlyLolita Says:
Feb 6, 2012 - I was the worst student in my class when in middle school and high school, my grades were horrible and I was also terrified by any kind of interaction with my teachers. I was always bullied by colleagues in middle school and by teachers in high school. Now I'm 29. My mind developed a lot in the past 10 years. I want to know anything about everything. When I met my high school colleagues last year, I saw them like monkeys. They had the same IQ as when they were 18. Something isn't working right.
