Title: Mag+ (Bonnier R&D concept video)
Added: Dec 17, 2009
Author: BonnierRandD
Duration: 8:5
Description:
This conceptual video is a corporate collaborative research project, Mag+,initiated by Bonnier R&D into the experience of reading magazines onhandheld digital devices. It illustrates one possible vision fordigital magazines in the near future, presented by our design partnersat BERG.The concept aims to capture the essence of magazine reading, whichpeople have been enjoying for decades: an engaging and unique readingexperience in which high-quality writing and stunning imagery build upimmersive stories. The concept uses the power of digital media to create a rich andmeaningful experience, while maintaining the relaxed and curatedfeatures of printed magazines. It has been designed for a world inwhich interactivity, abundant information and unlimited options couldbe perceived as intrusive and overwhelming. The purpose of publishing this concept video is first and foremost tospark a discussion around the digital reading experience in general, and digital reading platforms in particular. Thus, we would be morethan happy to hear what you have to say regarding the concept andideas expressed in the video: the magazine reading experience, digitalbrowsing, text versus images, as well as hear about your own digitalreading experiences and thoughts. We are all ears.Follow the discussion in the Bonnier R&D Beta Lab: bonnier.com/en/content/digital-magazines-bonnier-mag-prototypeFor additional information, please contact Sara Öhrvall at sara [dot] ohrvall [at] bonnier [dot] se (+46 (0) 8 736 4009) or Pontus Schultz at pontus [dot] schultz [at] bonnier [dot] se

Mar 7, 2010 - thought-out ? top-right corner gesture at 4:44 is just glamour-looking bells-and-whistles kind with no particular usage shownit is very beautifull shown, indeed. But no real sense in many things there. For example there is nothing about diffreent screen sizes of different e-book readers and how it will resut in e-zines layoutbut what i must admit, the movie is made stnningly beautiful, i just watch it and enjoy with marbles turned off :-)scrolling-with-deay is cooool for instnance!

Jun 19, 2011 - Looks great and very well done video.Only problem I see is that user may not be familiar with the gestures to bring up menus, and access special functions. If this has to be successful, the gestures should be standardized over all applications (or atleast all similar applications)

Jun 27, 2011 - and how about a possible vision into the future of digital magazines to recreate that rich and meaningful experience people have enjoyed for decades: wiping their arses with their fathers' collection of porn magazines as they've just run out of loo paper?
