May 23, 2012 - What must we do? Somebody must build a cold fusion generator and bring it to market as a consumer product. It doesn't need to be very big or powerful at first. Just enough to run a single refrigerator or room air conditioner or other small appliance for "free." But LENR will have the same chicken/egg problem as electric cars. There will need to be a sales channel for people to buy the deuterium and/or tritium fuel periodically, and also replace the palladium anode as needed.

May 23, 2012 - That's not possible. Unlike fission, fusion cannot suffer an explosive chain reaction. No moon-size craters...sorry. But there are still risks: a "home fusion" reactor will still need to be shielded against neutron radiation escaping. But by the same warning, you shouldn't break open your BluRay player and stare into the laser beam either...or swallow the LiION battery from your cell phone...or take a drink of bleach from the jug under your kitchen sink...
