Title: #3 [Unity3D Basics] Video Game From Scratch
Added: Nov 16, 2009
Author: TornadoTwins
Duration: 6:38
Description:
PART3 of Unity Basics Tutorial; making a game from scratch. In this part we're creating a game character in Unity 3D. Usually, I recommend using modeling software for this (like Maya, 3ds Max, etc), but in this case, it's about getting to know Unity 3D better. Don't you think our worm looks awesome!??

Apr 12, 2012 - how do you move an actual character into the game from another soft wear like "3ds max?"
tuhinbhatt1 Says:
Apr 12, 2012 - By importing it ... This is how you do it.. Go in 3dsmax -->go in MainMenu-->export-->save the character as fbx format..... Now you can just drag and drop the character in unity project window. .Fbx files work natively with unity3d

Apr 22, 2012 - is there a video where you can turn the shape into an actual chacter. Being just a shape doesnt doesnt sound fun. :(
masterapmark Says:
Apr 29, 2012 - Lol it's a bit more complicated than that, if you want to make something yourself, you'll need an external 3D software thing, something like Blender, Maya, 3DS Max. Blender's very professional and also COMPLETELY free. I suggest you don't even think of making any of that, it screws up your mindset since it's something extremely complicated.
shaints3 Says:
Apr 30, 2012 - World wide games like that take external/internal 3d modeling software, and a studio with other type of equipment to get precision and accurate readings/movement/angles etc.. like how halo company does it. Almost every big gaming company does this.

May 27, 2012 - i havent used unity before but i think you need to make the character a parent and drag all the components into it e.g legs hands arms and try what you were doing?(Im a noob but its only worth a try)
