Sep 12, 2011 - Well, I believe in no God, but am still a good person, I try not to discriminate, I have compassion for people, yet according to Islam I deserve to be condemned to everlasting Hellfire because I didn't believe iron age, barbaric Gods?
SarniaLute Says:
Oct 16, 2011 - Chompsky is a great mind, but how can he reconcile religious belief and rationality? This seems irrational. A linguist should understand that, although it's easy enough to say that there's no conflict between these two poles, that that doesn't constitute a good argument.
BeardleProductions Says:
Oct 21, 2011 - Will you smarten the fuck up and quite hating specific races or belief systems, hate them all or hate non of them, not only is corruption and religion two of the biggest threats to the human race but so is racist bigots like you.

Oct 28, 2011 - and spell check seems to be working for him too.
Merle1987 Says:
Oct 28, 2011 - If you're Jewish you certainly aren't representing yourself well as one of God's chosen people. You sound like some dumb inner city black person.@ehudnold9

Nov 23, 2011 - Racist and abusive? More like incoherent and imcomprehensible.
MastroCicio Says:
Nov 23, 2011 - The old testament was written before the "Hellenistic period"
thorkyll Says:
Nov 24, 2011 - The Jewish Bible was "put together" from earlier texts and oral traditions during the Hellenistic period. Of course much of it was written before it was "put together".
olliephelan Says:
Dec 23, 2011 - the old testament was not written before the hellenistic period .....SOME of the "oral" traditions that eventually made part of the OT existed during the hellenistic period , but the OT as we know it was written down roughly between 300 bc at earliest up till about 100 bc .
FitnessMinded Says:
Feb 13, 2012 - The very comments people make on people being religious zealots is applicable like wise to themselves. People who aren't "religious extremists"are racially intolerant, arrogant, pompous, immoral, etc, you get the picturePompous philosophers and professors of self. Religion adds on nothing to thosehumanistic characterisitics
yourtreat2 Says:
Feb 28, 2012 - Chomsky contradicts himself. First, he says religion is dangerous, and in the next breath he provides a rationalization for why there is nothing wrong with religion. LOLHe's thought out economics pretty well, but his views about religion celarly are contradictory...
yourtreat2 Says:
Feb 28, 2012 - KEEP READING GOOGLEMIESTER. I DON'T BUY ANY SHIT JUST BECAUSE CHOMSKY SAYS IT. I LEAVE THAT CRAP TO YOUR BIBLE BASHING SHEEPLE.BTW. DON'T EVEN BOTHER RESPONDING, I'M NOT INTERESTED AND WON'T BOTHER TO READ IT.
AntiFascist2011 Says:
Apr 5, 2012 - Atheist and secular irrationality grew into the doctrines of Communism and, mixed with the Occult, Fascism, leading to WW2 and the Holocaust. At the very least, religion means to connect and serves the function of an extended family and community. Chomsky at least recognises that part. I find it ironic that you chose a brilliant piece of Christian religious music for this by the devout Catholic Mozart. Good choice!
AntiFascist2011 Says:
Apr 5, 2012 - Atheism is irrational. The Enlightenment was begun, depending on how one defines it, by Christians such as Descartes, Newton, Galileo, etc. Once the Enlightenment was hijacked by bigoted anti-religious Deist Fundamentalists like Voltaire, and Atheist Fanatics like the Marquis De Sade, it led to the horrors of The French Revolution, a prot-Fascist regime which murdered hundreds of thousands of peasants and created the most totalitarian state in history up to that day.
AntiFascist2011 Says:
Apr 5, 2012 - Chomsky is twisting things to suit his own religious worldview. Say the Old Testament was finally codified in the Hellenistic period. This takes nothing away from the fact that most of it was written centuries earlier as linguistic and historical analysis verifies. Similarly, Biblical archaeology has confirmed most Biblical events, Chomsky is grasping on to the notion that not everything in the Bible has been proven yet. Even though Biblical names and events have been found on inscriptions.
AntiFascist2011 Says:
Apr 5, 2012 - I believe God created the Big Bang and evolution billions of years ago and find no contradiction between that and historical mainstream Christianity. As for wrongdoing by religious people, its generally because they're not following their religion's own teachings but instead trying to twist for their own greed and power.
BullittMcQueen1 Says:
Apr 23, 2012 - -- According to the Bible, the world is only about 6,000 years old. You have a problem, because what you just stated does not match up with what your biblical beliefs. Do you change the Bible to suit your beliefs? All religions were created by men to control people. All the available archeological and historical evidence supports this. Stop believing the lies that are spread by religions.
AntiFascist2011 Says:
Apr 30, 2012 - The Bible doesn't say that. The idea that it does was first proposed by a bishop in the 17th century. He may have got it wrong. You call not murdering people and treating others the way you wish to be treated yourself and taking a stand for social justice "created by men to control people". Well, I could claim that socialism or liberalism or any other ideology were created for control too. Its an easy cop out to claim that something you disagree with was created for control.
AntiFascist2011 Says:
Apr 30, 2012 - Religions are systems of belief just as ideologies like socialism or liberalism are. People adhere to a religion because they agree with its principles. Archeological and historical evidence supports the Biblical narrative.
BullittMcQueen1 Says:
Apr 30, 2012 - "Archeological and historical evidence supports the Biblical narrative." No, there is no archeological or historical evidence to support that Modes, the Exodus, Jesus, or the rest were real. Show me the evidence.
BullittMcQueen1 Says:
Apr 30, 2012 - -- Christians have a museum in Kentucky that claims people and dinosaurs lived together. They say it is based on biblical teachings.Developing an economic system is not the same as me telling you to believe that I am a god or you will burn in hell. The Bible says god ordered the Jews to murder several tribes after they were given the 10 commandments. You can't just pick out the nice parts like the Golden Rule that was around long before the New Testament and claim that your religion is good.
PurestLogic Says:
May 6, 2012 - In Islam there is no ever lasting hell-fire. Hell is a temporary place, like a hospital, for those who are spiritually sick to receive a form of cure. Muhammed (pbuh) has said "A time will come when no one will be left in Hell; winds will blow and the windows and doors of Hell will make a rattling noise on account of the blowing winds." Every man, including yourself will enter heaven eventually.
PurestLogic Says:
May 6, 2012 - Also, the Quran says ""O mankind! [this includes all races and all nations] We created you from a single (pair) of a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that ye may know each other. Verily the most honoured of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. And Allah has full knowledge and is well-acquainted." The Quran is saying irrespective of your religion (or lack thereof) the most closest to God is the most righteous in deeds (and Atheists can be righteous).

PurestLogic Says:
Sep 11, 2011 - "A Messenger, who rehearses to you the Signs of Allah containing clear explanations, that he may lead forth those who believe and do righteous deeds from the depths of Darkness5525 into Light. And those who believe in Allah and work righteousness, He will admit to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, to dwell therein for ever: Allah has indeed granted for them a most excellent Provision." (65:11) People of any faith, believing in God and doing good deeds will enter heaven (Universal).
