May 21, 2012 - Tim Burton didn't direct the nightmare before Christmas, he produce and came up with the idea and co-written it., while he was shooting batman returns . It is directed by Henry Selick. I wish you would have given Selick more credit and mentioned his shorts, or James and the Giant Peach and Coraline. Selick's style is also all over this film and he wasn't just a place holder for Burton.

May 27, 2012 - Ignoring Burton's recent movies and just by going by the two Batman movies he directed... Batman & Returns may not have been the best adaptations especially from the comics perspective, the two aren't bad movies, especially when the director doesn't read comics.But... come on Kevin, don't throw stones through glass houses. Your comics stuff has always been hit or miss, and for the liberties Burton took with Batman, at least he never had Batman shit himself, like you did with Widening Gyre.

May 10, 2012 - Don't mess with Burton, he'll call the student union on your ass!! Personally I do find Smith a bit arrogant. His only really good film was Clerks. I suppose to a lesser degree clerks II was mildly funny. Same with Chasing Amy. His work ranges from the mildly funny to the incredibly overrated (cough*DOGMA *cough). Burton was/is a unique visual stylist and I would point to Ed Wood as an example of a great film. However its true he has become very repetative of late. Also Batman 1989 Rules!
