He hung on the tree on purpose and willingly... because God's love could never be satisfied until He could rescue us from darkness, hate, fear, pain and separation from His pure Kingdom. He ached to hold us in His arms and that was the price that had to be paid to buy us back from our slave trader. He is in love with us and it wrecks me and brings me to tears every time I think about it.
