Latino is the origin of our language, castillian, catalan, gallego, portugues, fraces, italiano, romanian.  The term hispanic comes hispano which is the same as spanish. So the term hispano americano would be a person which has a spanish background or a mix of native american and spanish, born in America of course.

Theres people that I know that are born in the USA with Spanish decent from Spain and speak no Spanish. Are they not Spanish because they dont speak spanish?
