Nov 5, 2011 - Hi, i was wondering if you could help me. I have a bonsai tree for a little under a year now and it's suddenly started dying, all its leaves are turning yellow. It's autumn now - do bonsai trees loose their leaves like other trees? I've watered it when it's started getting dry, but not too much. i've kept it indoors out of direct sunlight but in some light. I've pruned it a bit. The only thing i haven't done is re-potted it but i'm not sure if i should or not? Any advice would be welcome

Nov 5, 2011 - I read it's best to put it by a window sill to the south, because that's the direction the sun is, and it'll get the most light. East and west are second best, but don't put it by a window to the north, or else you'll have to get extra lights. Also, it wouldn't hurt to put like a try with gravel and water under it to help keep it humid around the bonsai.

Ignorance means everyone thinks there is no difference between Vietnamese or Japanese when it could not be further from the truth. A shame because there are so many varied cultural differences that people are missing out on. A boring life if you ask me!!

Feb 14, 2012 - With Chinese elm, growth will be inhibited by pot size. Trimming the branches is mainly cosmetic. Larger pot = larger tree. A ficus, on the other hand, will push itself out of the pot and continue to grow.
