Added: Jun 16, 2008

Duration: 4:33

Description:
Two things posting this video taught me. #1, people are abysmally ignorant of the law, but think that they know more than an attorney and #2, people are terrified of police and will do ANYTHING they are asked to do.Flex Your Rights originally produced this video. Please visit our channel at http://youtube.com/flexyourrightsMORE INFO ON DEALING WITH POLICE ......Know-Your-Rights DVDs: http://flexyourrights.org/our_DVDsOfficial Facebook Page: http://facebook.com/FlexYourRightsTwitter: http://twitter.com/FlexYourRightsGet More Info: http://flexyourrights.org/subscribeI'd suggest reading Arizona v. Gant before making any comments.**THIS IS NOT A VIDEO ON HOW TO BEAT A SPEEDING TICKET. IT IS HOW TO REFUSE A SEARCH.**In this video reenactment, some college students are stopped by a police officer. The driver exercises his constitutional rights and goes on about his way. Check out my other videos to see what could have happened if he waived his rights.

May 28, 2012 - What would be next? search and seizure in middle of the night comrade? "They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety." (Benjamin Franlin).

albertabeefcowboy84 Says:

May 28, 2012 - If you're in NY yes, elsewhere in the States, not so much

bart40330 Says:

May 28, 2012 - I have been pulled over for running a stop sign at 3am. I refused a search request and nothing happened to me.

freddbear3624360 Says:

May 28, 2012 - This is one very stupid video. This cop could have fucked up this kids day. Actually nothing in this video is realistic.

bart40330 Says:

May 28, 2012 - How could he have "fucked up this kid's day?"

freddbear3624360 Says:

May 28, 2012 - Fining him for speeding. Would be over $200.00. May have left him go if he co-operated. I don't see how he won any thing here. Alot of times they will let you off.Could have searched his car. Could have held him as a suspect for a srolen car. The cops will do it. Doesn't matter if it is against the law or not.

bart40330 Says:

May 28, 2012 - So you think that getting a speeding ticket is having your day fucked up? The cop could not have searched his car because there was no probable cause. They couldn't have held him for suspicion of a stolen car because the car wasn't reported stolen. Sounds to me like you're the type that would have just put the cop in your mouth.... if you know what I mean.

bart40330 Says:

May 28, 2012 - And another thing. I've looked at your posts on other videos. I do not condone racism and I don't allow racists to comment on my page.

TheMikeMase Says:

May 28, 2012 - who made this video and how can I know that its trustworthy? i liked it but im a bit skeptical

SergeantLush Says:

May 28, 2012 - I've done the exact opposite as this guy and never gotten ticketed after being pulled over on three separate occasions. I would have been polite and respectful to the cop and saved myself the $200 speeding ticket. Cops like to feel empowered and will actually be nice to you if you're not being an ass. It's worth sucking up to them with a couple of "Yes Sir, No Sir's" and getting let off with a warning, rather than looking like Mr. Badass trying to make a civil rights case and having to pay...

Wraithflame Says:

May 29, 2012 - Actually in some states if a cop stops you and asks to search your vehicle and you say no then that's an admission of guilt. It's fucked up yes, but if you've truly nothing to hide then you should just let him search it anyway.

SShelly87 Says:

May 29, 2012 - Yes but like he said it was his sisters car....who knows what could of been in there thats why you don't consent to searchs without cause...even your so called "friends" you were riding with might stash something under your seat for all you know.

hambone7777777 Says:

May 29, 2012 - There are two sides to the coin. But cops are 'fishing' all day long, and they're all trained in how to weave around the laws. It all depends on the cop and the type of person(s) being pulled over. But if you let them search and they find something that you didn't know was there, then its your ass and the flood gates are already open.

bart40330 Says:

May 29, 2012 - That is the single most fucked up lie or bit of misinformation I have ever heard. Please, tell us, what are these states that brazenly defy the Fourth and Fifth Amendment?

bart40330 Says:

May 29, 2012 - Did you offer to put him in your mouth?

bart40330 Says:

May 29, 2012 - Check out Flex Your Rights and the American Civil Liberties Union.

matrix6977 Says:

May 29, 2012 - yes because simply being respectful to an officer that is doing his job pulling over somone doing 20 MPH over the speed limit means you wanted to suck his dick... dude you are a complete fucking moron...I'll keep enjoying my $0 tickets for speeding and saying yes sir... you enjoy getting harassed and looking like a fucking idiot trying to argue your way out of tickets and end up paying hundreds for being a douche...

bart40330 Says:

May 29, 2012 - Please point to the time frame in the video where the driver is not respectful to the police officer.

jdotpenneyatcomputer Says:

May 29, 2012 - but did you have drugs in your car?

lianosia Says:

May 29, 2012 - um, in arkansas if you say no to a search it gives them probable cause, because to them you wouldnt say no unless you had something to hide

bart40330 Says:

May 29, 2012 - No it doesn't. You are incorrect. There would be no reason to even have the Fourth Amendment if using it is probable cause. You are just repeating what you've heard. Honestly, um, I can't believe that you are so stupid as to believe it.

The1Modern1Machine Says:

May 29, 2012 - Yee-ow! What a catch-22 that logic entails. :)

SergeantLush Says:

May 29, 2012 - That's not the point you stupid inbred lol What satisfaction do you gain from acting all cocky and knowing your rights in front of a cop. You're just going to irritate him and he'll show you no mercy and write you up for the violation immediately. What can you possibly gain by trying to outsmart a cop? Nothing. The cop always wins because he's not the one paying the ticket like you you dumb cunt!

Exodent Says:

May 29, 2012 - It does matter if it's against the law or not then why do we have police officers? To enforce the law... They can't hold him suspect as car theft unless they can prove it, and on the registration his sister's details are on there so he can see their last name.
