Dec 11, 2010 - im finding it so hard to learn the guitar. to even get going is a nightmare, my friends say "just play" but just play what, where do i start?!my dad gave me a telecaster a while back and it's got such a weird sound to it that if i try learning wonderwall or something it sounds totally wrong and shitwhat should i start off playing, any easy beginners songs anyone can recommend for learning on a tele? :) would really appreciate the tips

Dec 11, 2010 - @jamester1989I play for 1 year and a few months, I also have a telecaster.I started by learning some chords, then a few easy songs to stay motivated, then start looking all the videos on guitarjamzdotcom (youtube channel)Marty is a great teacher, he learned me scales and chords..For wonderwall search up the lesson on martyzsongstake your time, and don't mind the type of guitar. Try chords than double picking or something. Check out his videos they help a lot!dont forget to have fun =)

Dec 11, 2010 - Get some blank tab sheets off the internet and slow the down or stop the video and stranscripe it yourself. It will really pay off in the long run with your playing and try to play it by ear. It is better to learn how to do it this way you will be come a better musician. There is all kinds of software out there to help you but learn the old school way and just listen to the music.

Dec 11, 2010 - hey Marty I've been watching your vids and learning how to play pentatonic scales and such. I'm wondering if you could make a video explaining how to play in different keys, you have not made one of those and it would be very helpful.
