Feb 20, 2010 - Amazing...I agree that NASA should show more of this type footage from launches! I hope I get a chance to see this in person before the program is over.

Feb 22, 2010 - this is a good video! It's belongs to the history too that, without the Von Brau's german ingenieurs team the nasa wouldn't reach the moon and the soviet without the germans'reachers wouldn't reach the space! In cap canaveral they spoke german after the war!

OAXM202 Says:

Feb 27, 2010 - there not going to shut down the ISS project as soon as its complete. That's insane, they still have loads to do with it. it just no more visits after the shuttle ends until their new launch vehicle is ready to go.

Feb 28, 2010 - Whats the trackname @ 6:40 ? :)

JustAnAdjunct Says:

Mar 6, 2010 - The bagpipes make it extra epic somehow :)

melendrezd Says:

Mar 9, 2010 - @nodronald - The music at 6:40 is a mix of "Dream Catcher" by Ann Moore and "Ice" by Chris Blackwell. There's also a small portion of "Tympanic Membrance" by Yoni Gileadi in the background at about 6:55. "Ice" was also used behind part of the opening titles.

melendrezd Says:

Mar 9, 2010 - @vava54own - actually those are Tyvek thruster covers. They are used to keep water out of the jet nozzles on the pad. They pull off during ascent via pocket pouches that inflate like little parachutes.

vincnet010 Says:

Mar 10, 2010 - what's the music starting at 00:30 ?

melendrezd Says:

Mar 10, 2010 - @vincnet010 - The music at 00:30 is "Ice" by Chris Blackwell.

Mar 17, 2010 - What causes the charring on the external tank that you can see after it is separated from the shuttle?

xytronite Says:

Mar 17, 2010 - @mdr48371: Its the separation motors on the SRB's that fire just after they seperate from the shuttle, you can see them firing at 5:32

vava54own Says:

Sep 17, 2010 - 8:28 What is that white floting around the external tank? It looks big and to go relatively slow. I'm guessing a small piece of ice but thats just my guess :s

faab007 Says:

Nov 13, 2010 - Wow and that's all it took 1,5 billion years of evolution and we're back in space in 10 minutes
