Aug 17, 2011 - The eyetoy is a SINGLE webcam with software that helps it track things. The Kinect has a IR sensor and 2 webcam like 3d cameras that help sense depth and take pictures, the IR sensor is to pick up shapes, etc, etc. It's MUCH more accurate and uses more hardware including the software which helps find facial features and limbs. So, yes, it is different.
