My wife and I are music scholars and followers of many singers and we have to say your comment about Mr. Tanner NOT being a dramatic tenor is plain wrongHe just sang his first Otello...which if you knew anything of opera or singers...you would know that it takes a TRUE Dramatic tenor to even attempt such a role. Sep 14, 2011 - To "Afropoli" I just heard Mr. Tanner at his Metropolitan Opera Debut of La Fanciulla Del West this last Dec.27, Then I heard him again at the Semper Opera in Dresden Germany as Otello. Both times I heard him Loud and clear! He was practically the only one you could her at the Semper Opera. So since you such an accomplished singer and artist yourself, tell everyone here where YOU are singing!! We would all love to come and hear!! Everyone has a right to an opinion but don't be an A Hole!!

BUT unlike these other forms of music art, Opera has critics that try to distroy it's artists. People like this "afropoli" character. Yes, he IS Mic'd in Breganz Festspiele, and it's because it's outside on a lake in front of a 10,000 seat audience with no acoustical back drop and was not made for anything but amplification. The OTHER companies I mention, the houses extend no available Audio system for such purposes. You have your opinion about Mr Tanner, but until you can do what he does as good as him, you have no right to trash him! Now crawl back in your hole and die!
