Feb 15, 2012 - @rognorok1the rule is, to be precise:never* shift down to 1st.*unless you are driving on ramp of a speeding semi.due to the synchromesh of the first gear, technically it is very hard to downshift to 1st if the car is moving fast. You can shift down to 1st only if the cars drive wheel is rolling slowly or stopped. btw this is exactly the case when you catch the moving ramp...

Mar 15, 2012 - My question is why didn't they use a Trans Am of the era? Yes I know the Camaro has the same F body as the Trans Am. I figured with Discovery Networks or even M5's money they could easily get one.

juepucta Says:

Mar 28, 2012 - they could've just watched the italian job (the real one, not the marky mark abomination) and see that it is doable - not easy, but definitely doable - they do it with a longass bus modified with a ramp and several minis (not the current bmw ones)

nottheonlysinner Says:

Mar 29, 2012 - This show is kinda stupid... They test myths that take about 7th grade science to know if they will work or not but they spend thousands of dollars for this shit...

daniil gesam Says:

Mar 30, 2012 - wat kind of car is it

lilninjax Says:

H3adFh0n3s Says:

Apr 2, 2012 - Who cares how it works, Knight Rider is awesome!

GESSO217 Says:

Apr 3, 2012 - In the animation at :29 it looks like an 81 Trans Am, they used an 80's Camaro to test the Myth and the Knight Rider TV series used an 1982 Trans Am.

konked Says:

Apr 4, 2012 - If my memory serves me, those cars were made on same basic platform but using different engines etc. to different tastes.

marshalllucky Says:

Apr 8, 2012 - they use the modeles to film these car scene as it was too much expensive and to dangeros to use the real car on the tv serie ;-)

omegaprim Says:

Apr 8, 2012 - I love how they call Adam a "guinea pig"...

NAMULTISS Says:

Apr 9, 2012 - Of course it is gonna work. It was done on fear factor about 10yrs ago. Lol. Now the bullets in the over is the one they got to redo . Because they took them out if the casing before they put them in the oven. So they don't have away of being projected.

goosehunter87 Says:

Apr 17, 2012 - Same frame, same body, same components, same engine, same everything. Save the taillights, front clip and a few interior components such as the gauge cluster.

goosehunter87 Says:

Apr 17, 2012 - Also the TransAm IS a firebird you fuck.

konked Says:

Apr 18, 2012 - Pontiac did use Buick and Pontiac engines here and there notably turbo V8 and V6 engines. On the other hand Chevrolet had L 4 engine which was never used in Pontiacs. But mostly the V8s were of Chevrolet origin.

goosehunter87 Says:

Apr 18, 2012 - Yes, by the time they had the third gens (82-92) being produced Chevy was the only engine format used. The 1982 TransAm (Kitt) was originaly designed with a turbo in mind. After scraping the turbo idea the abnormal hood bulge was left behind because the designers decided it was cool, it was not produced for clearance issues.

DaveF40 Says:

Apr 26, 2012 - I cant believe mythbusters think Knight rider came up with this stunt, Has nobody seen the Original Italian Job Movie. They did this stunt way before knight rider with three minis

smidsyonfire Says:

Apr 26, 2012 - ...I was just thinking the same thing ! The original Italian Job was 1969 ! ...and what a great movie it was !

ThisisAliFareedshow Says:

May 2, 2012 - It always raining on mythbusters

jplandreth Says:

May 2, 2012 - Actually, KITT was a firebird, not a Trans Am.

fischaus Says:

May 3, 2012 - He totally nails the passenger side mirror at 4:30 :-P

MagicDragoon Says:

May 4, 2012 - KITT´s basic was a modified Pontiac Firebird Trans Am build in 1982

aculturemind Says:

May 12, 2012 - This is fucking retarded. OF COURSE they did. That's why the car almost got fuckin squirly every time. I think the ramp was half that length, too. Go ask the stunt men, yo.

FIREBLADESrule Says:

May 18, 2012 - I reject your reality and substitute my own :)

GregoryTheGr8ster Says:

May 27, 2012 - If they had been the Dukes of Hazzard, they would have jumped right through the top of the trailer, and the truck driver would have got a quick look at the underbelly of the General Lee as they landed hard but safely in front of the rig. Yeee-haaah!
