The Gk word is dismurius - it literally means "an incalcuable number" it is used only here in the Bible. John saw a "bunch of people too numberous to count". Interesting though, WWII had 200 mil people in it with 60 mil deaths. Right at 1/3! Coincidence?

Nov 19, 2008 - I need to clarify something. In the Grk. the 1/3 of mankind statement...is not specific that it means 1/3 of the WHOLE WORLD. It literally translates to something like this..."and 1/3 of the men" died. It makes this statement after speaking of the great middle east war of Trumpet 6. So, by implication it could be speaking of that war alone and NOT the whole world. I hope this helps.

I hold this position because the info in the film is accurate. (and MANY other BIBLICAL reasons.) Paul said the rapture would not happen (gathered unto him) until AFTER the antichrist was exposed. The producer seems to locate everything around Iraq (Babylon), assuming that a third of those involvred in war there would be destroyed, but I understand it to be a third of all mankind will be killed (Rev 9:14-16). Also, the number of troops were 10,000 x 10,000 - there is only a fraction of that in Iraq. Peace

Because the death toll has not reached a third when talking about the troops. But the population in Iraq though, that's another story, we still do not know how many casualties have been had civilian wise... buts its a large amount.

The 4th and 5th trumpets paved the way for it all to unfold by putting the world focus back on Middle East, Iraq, Iran, Russia, Israel, et. al.
