Mar 20, 2012 - George is actually playing a bass. It's a Fender Bass VI, a six string bass guitar. Both George and John used this when they played bass. Don't know which one owned it but both used it. You can also see John playing it the Long and Winding Road and Let it Be Videos.

Look at the headstock of it. Look at the string gauges. A bass guitar has much fatter strings, much larger headstock.
