psyclopsus Says:
May 11, 2011 - Not saying anything is wrong with it. It just kinda doesn't make sense. Those commercials are targeted to recruit young kids to enlist. From my experience most officers never had a doubt about what they wanted to be, they don't need recruited. Not saying that makes them any better either, it's just a career path they pursue as opposed to being talked into it by a flashy TV commercial. That's all. -Sempers.

pointman127 Says:
May 17, 2011 - Do the Marines really have such an obstacle coarse as part of the training? And in addition I was wondering about that monster, do they really train like that? Is the monster like mechanically driven or is it more like they have one of the instructors dress up in a huge monster outfit for that specific part of training?
pointman127 Says:
May 17, 2011 - I saw this the first time in 1999, so somewhere around that era.

Apr 18, 2012 - I actually remember this commercial from when I was a kid it was on t.v. for years.Keep in mind this was a recruitment commercial before 9/11 so nobody cared about realism it was more or less peace time when this commercial was around.
01convoy Says:
Apr 22, 2012 - Wow the pre 9/11 peace time USMC commercials are fucking weird. I mean you got this one and the one with the lava monster I mean you think they would focus on some of the stuff the USMC actually did in the mid to late nineties like Bosnia, Yugoslavia, Haiti, Kosovo, and even Somalia, but no I guess chess boards and lava monsters were the way to go. Never served don't intend to serve but with all due respect Semper Fi.

Dec 29, 2010 - who needs commercials? thanks to Obama destroying the economy, I am sure all the military branches have more recruits than they can handle.
