Description:
The dream of a young Ugandan team to become the first African squad to play in the Little League World Series was dashed when their entry visas to the US were denied due to improper documents. In response, the Canadian national team, which was scheduled to play against the Ugandans in the first round, raised money and flew to Africa on a goodwill tour.During their visit, the Canadians have donated equipment, held training sessions and helped turn wasteland into baseball diamonds.Al Jazeera's Malcolm Webb reports from Mpigi in Uganda.

Jan 18, 2012 - It's a real shame they didn't get to go play in the venue they played hard to earn but I'm happy to see that sponsors pulled through to get the Canadian team out there so they could play. Humanity disappoints me with the negative comments here though. The children are playing a game they love and idiots are turning it into some sort of history/philosophy debate. Let the kids have fun, heaven knows some of you are incapable of fun.

Jan 20, 2012 - Americans would rather use a preemptive strike against Uganda than to use this opportunity to promote friendship. Way to go U.S.A. Always consistent.

Jan 22, 2012 - start keeping records now African government.. its about time you live up to the expectations of your people.. computers are everywhere now, invest in them instead of hiding the money in Swiss banks..
suannalynn Says:
Feb 1, 2012 - There is more to the story...while it is sad they didn't get to come - there are rules that need to be abided by. And it wasn't Americans who didn't let them come in - it was the embassy's rule - don't loop all Americans in with that please. It makes you lose all credibility.
SoCalJAH Says:
